In the waters of Ca Mau province, besides ensuring national defense and security, with the perspective of "looking towards the sea, enriching from the sea" by exploiting advantages and potential, the island clusters of Hon Khoai, Hon Chuoi, and Hon Da Bac have received investment and undergone many innovations in all aspects. Infrastructure has been prioritized for investment, and the living conditions and lives of officers and soldiers on the islands have improved significantly.

However, due to the unique conditions of these small, newly formed islands with steep rocky slopes, there are still barren areas, deserted islands with few boats visiting. Investment and development in these "rocky" or "deserted" areas will face many difficulties due to harsh natural conditions and weather. Nevertheless, the most obvious potential is for cage fish farming, creating production and logistics areas for the fishing industry, linked to tourism and experiential activities. This potential needs to be exploited, investment boosted, and combined with the application of scientific and technological advancements.
During his recent visit to the Hon Khoai and Hon Chuoi island clusters, Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, affirmed that these two areas will develop significantly in the future. This includes major projects and investments linked to the development plan for these two island clusters, with a strategic vision to transform Ca Mau into the "southern continent," paving the way for the locality and the region to "reach out to the open sea."
Because it formed relatively late, many areas of Hon Hang Island (part of the Hon Chuoi island cluster) gradually sink each time the tide rises.
Located within the Hon Chuoi island cluster, Hon Hang island is a newly formed island with complex geological and climatic conditions, a lack of freshwater sources, and underdeveloped vegetation... but it has great potential for cage fish farming.
