Lai Chau: Conference "Meeting and honoring exemplary journalists"

At the Conference, delegates watched the reportage “Proud of 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism: Lai Chau press is loyal to the revolutionary pen”. The reportage depicts the development of 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism and nearly 60 years of formation and growth of Lai Chau journalism. From simple radio news to modern television and multimedia digital platforms, Lai Chau journalism has always accompanied the cause of building and defending the homeland. Local press agencies such as Lai Chau Newspaper, Provincial Radio - Television Station, and Literature and Arts Magazine have actively contributed to propagating policies and reflecting people's lives, especially in remote areas. The reportage pays tribute to journalists who are not afraid of hardships and work at the grassroots level to bring timely and accurate information to the public. At the same time, it highlights the role of journalism in socio -economic development, cultural preservation, promoting patriotic emulation movements and spreading good values. In the digital age, Lai Chau press has innovated strongly, won many major press awards, and steadily integrated. The merger of two major press agencies is a strategic step towards a professional, streamlined, and modern press model. The reportage is an affirmation of the mettle, dedication, and noble mission of journalists at the country's frontiers.

In their speeches at the Conference, representatives of press agencies focused on a number of contents: Local party newspapers and their tasks when entering the era of national development; challenges and solutions to promote the role of revolutionary journalism in the current development trend of digital media technology; literary and artistic journalism in the general flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

Comrade Vu Manh Ha - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee delivered a congratulatory speech at the Conference.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, delivering a speech congratulating, expressing gratitude, recognizing and praising the press agencies and the press team, comrade Vu Manh Ha - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the speech affirmed the important role and glorious tradition of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and Lai Chau press in particular in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The provincial leaders praised the positive contributions of the press team to propaganda work, orienting public opinion, spreading the image of Lai Chau developing and integrating. The press was recognized for contributing to promoting digital transformation, promptly reflecting social issues, supporting the government in effective governance. At the same time, the speech clearly stated the requirement for press innovation in the face of challenges from technology and social networks, encouraging modern, responsible and orthodox journalism. The provincial leaders committed to creating favorable conditions for the press to develop in the right direction and healthily. The speech also emphasized the political determination to merge the province's press agencies from June 20, 2025 to become more streamlined, professional, and effective.

He suggested that each journalist and each press agency should continue to maintain political courage, promote the role of the voice of the Party Committee and the government, and be a trusted forum for the people; constantly practice ethics, improve theoretical and professional qualifications, master technology, be creative in work, and truly become shock troops on the ideological and cultural front. In the context of digital transformation, the press needs to stay ahead of trends, effectively apply information technology and artificial intelligence, produce modern, attractive, in-depth and highly influential media products. Proactively build reliable digital media platforms, create strong "official channels" in the era of social networks. Focus on deeply propagating the task of socio-economic development, striving for GRDP growth of 8% in 2025, aiming for double-digit growth; implement Central Resolutions such as Resolutions 57, 59, 66, 68; Prepare and successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels; effectively implement the two-level government model from July 1, 2025.

To honor journalists on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), at the Conference, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 6 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Emulation Movement to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025); awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 5 groups of authors and authors whose works won prizes at the Award for literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style" in the second phase, 2021-2025 period.
