The Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 will be rescheduled from November 8-10, 2024 to December 20-22, 2024.
The People's Committee of Lai Chau province has just issued urgent document No. 4397/UBND-VX regarding the change of time for organizing the Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week in 2024.
Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province agrees to adjust the time for organizing the Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 from November 8-10, 2024 to December 20-22, 2024.
Other activities will continue to be implemented according to Plan No. 3902/KH-UBND dated September 27, 2024, of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee on Organizing Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week Activities in 2024.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is assigned to preside over and coordinate with provincial departments, agencies, and organizations, as well as the People's Committees of districts and cities, to advise the Provincial People's Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 on the implementation of activities of the Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024, ensuring that they are on schedule, of high quality, safe, economical, effective, and practical.
The Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024, themed "Returning to the Majestic Peaks of Lai Chau," is expected to take place over three days with many unique activities such as a cultural performance night between Vietnam and China at the People's Square in Lai Chau province, a collaboration between the Hong Ha Art Troupe (Yunnan Province, China) and the Lai Chau Provincial Center for Culture and Arts; the Lai Chau Provincial Marathon 2024; and a cultural space showcasing ethnic groups…
In particular, the tourism promotion space at the Provincial People's Square has 21 booths. These booths display tourism promotional publications (leaflets, brochures, guidebooks, tourist maps, photo books, souvenirs, etc.), screen video clips promoting tourist destinations; and introduce OCOP products and typical agricultural products from the 8 provinces of the expanded Northwest region, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, and Honghe Prefecture of Yunnan Province (China).
The Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024 is a series of events aimed at honoring, promoting, and spreading the values of local ethnic identity; contributing to the education of patriotic traditions, national pride, strengthening the unity of ethnic groups; and raising awareness in the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese community.
At the same time, it is also an opportunity to promote the image of Lai Chau tourism to a wide audience from all over the country; creating opportunities for travel businesses to learn about, expand the market, and build tours to bring tourists to Lai Chau.
