Building a railway overpass in the North

On January 31, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Ngo Duc Nam, Director of Thanh Hoa City Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that he is completing the procedures and related documents to implement the North-South railway overpass project and the roads at both ends of the bridge belonging to the East-West Avenue route.

Mr. Nam said that this project has a total investment of about 700 billion VND and will be implemented in 4 years. It is expected that the project will start in April 2024.

The project consists of 16 bid packages, of which bid package No. 16 for construction and construction insurance is the largest in scale (over 518 billion VND), expected to be widely bid in the second quarter of 2024, with contracts implemented according to adjusted unit prices.

The project's objective is to ensure traffic safety on the North-South railway and to invest in the complete and synchronous East-West Highway according to the planning to enhance traffic connectivity in the area; connecting with the main urban axis and Rung Thong town to form a connecting road from National Highway 45 to National Highway 1.

According to the design, the North-South railway overpass project and the two-way bridge on the East-West Highway are built permanently with concrete. The total width of the bridge is 25m, including 4 lanes for limited traffic and 2 mixed lanes. Completing the overall intersection between Trinh Kiem Street and the East-West Highway and neighboring traffic routes.
