Build an overpass over the North railway line.

On January 31st, in an interview with Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Ngo Duc Nam, Director of the Thanh Hoa City Investment and Construction Project Management Board, stated that they are finalizing the necessary procedures and documents to implement the project for an overpass over the North-South railway and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, part of the East-West Boulevard.

Mr. Nam stated that the project has a total investment of approximately 700 billion VND and will be implemented over 4 years. Construction is expected to begin in April 2024.

The project comprises 16 bidding packages, of which package No. 16, for construction and construction insurance, is the largest (over 518 billion VND), and is expected to be put out to public tender in Q2/2024, with the contract implemented based on adjustable unit prices.

The project aims to ensure traffic safety on the North-South railway line and to invest in the complete and synchronized East-West Boulevard according to the plan to enhance traffic connectivity in the area; connecting with the main urban arterial road and Rung Thong town to form a connecting road from National Highway 45 to National Highway 1.

According to the design, the North-South railway overpass project and the approach roads at both ends of the East-West Boulevard will be permanently constructed using concrete. The total width of the bridge is 25m, including 4 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed traffic. The project completes the overall intersection between Trinh Kiem Street and the East-West Boulevard and adjacent traffic routes.
