Lam Dong province begins construction of Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway.

On the morning of December 19th, Lam Dong province commenced construction of the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway, a key transportation project connecting the Central Highlands with the southern key economic region.

The Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project, implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, was attended by representatives from the Ministry of National Defense , provincial leaders, investors, and a large number of local people. This was one of 79 live television broadcast points of the national television broadcast celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The expressway project has a total length of approximately 65.9 km (including about 11.9 km in Dong Nai province and 53.97 km in Lam Dong province), designed to expressway standards with 4 lanes and an operating speed of up to 80 km/hour. The total investment for the phased construction is expected to exceed 18,000 billion VND, with state capital and investor capital contributing jointly under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model.

Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep emphasized that the project is a strategically important infrastructure project, contributing to the completion of the expressway network connecting Lam Dong with major economic centers, promoting socio-economic development, attracting investment, and creating new impetus for the province and the Central Highlands region.

Upon completion, the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway will significantly shorten travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat compared to the current situation, alleviate congestion on National Highway 20, and contribute to ensuring traffic safety on existing routes. The investor expects to complete construction in approximately 25 months, aiming to put the project into operation by the end of 2027.

The groundbreaking ceremony on the morning of December 19th marked an important step in the development of transportation infrastructure in the area and created new expectations for the sustainable development of Lam Dong province in the coming period.
