Lam Dong strengthens the Steering Committee for implementing democracy at the grassroots level

On the morning of August 15, Comrade Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Head of the Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy in Lam Dong province chaired the Conference to give opinions on a number of related contents under her authority.

Attending the conference were comrades: Vo Thanh Binh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee; Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Committee; Tran Minh Quan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Deputy Head of the Committee; and members of the Steering Committee for implementing democracy at the grassroots level of the province.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and departments and branches attended the Conference.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and contributed opinions on the following contents: Draft Regulations on functions, tasks, powers, working relationships and working style of the Steering Committee for implementing democracy at the grassroots level in Lam Dong province; Draft on assigning tasks to members; Draft Decision on establishing a Working Group.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Phan Thi Thanh Mai approved the drafts on the Provincial Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy.

In order for grassroots democracy to continue to receive attention after the province's merger and the implementation of a two-level local government, delegates attending the Conference all agreed that the Steering Committee needs to continue operating to ensure streamlining and efficiency.

Comrade Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Head of the Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy in Lam Dong province delivered a concluding speech at the Conference.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Grassroots Democracy, acknowledged the comments on the consolidation and addition of members of the Steering Committee; and adjusted some contents related to the assignment of tasks to members of the Steering Committee.
