Lam Dong invites bids for Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway project

On May 9, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the bidding documents to select investors for the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway construction investment project under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, phase 1.

Previously, on March 31, Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision approving the investment project to build Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway connecting the south of Lam Dong province with Da Lat city after connecting to Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway.

According to the design, this highway will start from Loc Phat ward (Bao Loc), coinciding with the end point of Tan Phu - Bao Loc highway (km125+675).

The end point of the route will intersect with Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway (km208+650) in Hiep Thanh commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province.

The total length of the entire route is about 73.62km, with a design speed of 100km/h. According to calculations, the total investment for the entire route is more than 17,000 billion VND.

Lam Dong Provincial Transport Project Management Board is assigned to organize the selection of investors, strictly complying with legal regulations. Lam Dong Provincial Department of Finance is assigned to take full responsibility for the content of appraisal and approval.

Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway is part of the expressway system from Dau Giay to Lien Khuong according to the planning approved by the Prime Minister.

According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the project improves connectivity with the national transport network, shortens the time to connect the Central Highlands provinces with the Southern key economic region and economic, social and industrial centers along National Highway 20; improves the capacity of transporting goods and foreign trade, meets the increasing demand, reduces congestion and traffic accidents on National Highway 20 which is currently overloaded.

Currently, Lam Dong province still has the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway project awaiting investment approval from the Government. The route is expected to be 66km long, 17m wide with 4 lanes, with a total investment of 17,200 billion VND.

When this route is formed, it will seamlessly connect Ho Chi Minh City with Da Lat City through the expressways Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Lien Khuong - Prenn.

Recently, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces have submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to invest in the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway before 2030.
