Messy behind storm

In the southern part of Ha Tinh province, Typhoon No. 10, which raged continuously for many hours, severely impacted businesses and factories in the area. Not only were factory buildings and warehouses disrupted, but infrastructure and machinery used in production were also interrupted, creating significant pressure on future operations. According to the leadership of Viet Hai High-Tech Components Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Vung Ang Economic Zone, Vung Ang Ward), with wind gusts exceeding level 15, many parts of the company, such as the factory building, crane system, and staff accommodation, suffered heavy damage, with total estimated losses reaching tens of billions of VND.

In addition, Thien Loc Animal Feed Processing Plant had its warehouse roof blown off, causing raw materials and goods to get wet, with estimated losses of 3 billion VND; Thien Y Hotel suffered losses of about 500 million VND; and the pig farms under the company's management are having to 'strain themselves' to protect their herds and implement disease prevention measures.”

Quickly stabilize production and business operations.

Immediately after the storm subsided, businesses in the area simultaneously implemented various solutions to quickly restore normal operations. Mr. Le Viet Thao, General Director of Mitraco, added: “The company mobilized 100% of its employees to clean up and re-erect fallen trees; assess the damage, and develop repair plans to quickly stabilize production and business. The recovery work is being carried out urgently and continuously because it is predicted that Ha Tinh may continue to be affected by Typhoon No. 11 in the coming period. Currently, the company is reinforcing the roofing systems of the production workshops; repairing the rest rooms of Thien Y Hotel; and increasing the level of disinfection and sterilization of the pig farming system to the highest level.”

Businesses in the Vung Ang Economic Zone have begun repairing and restoring infrastructure.

Alongside the efforts of manufacturing businesses, the telecommunications sector – the "lifeblood" of information – is focusing intensely on recovery efforts to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for leadership, management, and the essential needs of the people. At this time, VNPT Ha Tinh has been reinforced with over 400 officers and engineers from VNPT Da Nang, Ha Giang , Dien Bien, and Lai Chau units, working in coordination with over 300 local personnel to mitigate the consequences of Typhoon No. 10. As a result, the unit has restored over 50% of its communication lines, with the system serving the 20th Provincial Party Congress largely remaining operational.

Mr. Tran Xuan Dung, Deputy Director of VNPT Ha Tinh, said: “By mobilizing the ‘four on-site’ forces and with the support of units from neighboring provinces, we expect to restore 100% of the internet connection within the next three days, ensuring service for approximately 20,000 customers whose service is still disrupted.”

VNPT Ha Tinh is making efforts to repair the transmission system.

Similar to Vinaphone, telecommunications businesses in Ha Tinh province are coordinating with local "four on-site" forces to urgently address the aftermath of the storm. In addition to local personnel, hundreds of engineers and equipment from neighboring provinces have been deployed, contributing to speeding up the process of resolving issues, maintaining connectivity, and ensuring uninterrupted communication throughout the province.

Alongside telecommunications, the power sector recognizes that restoring the power system as soon as possible not only helps businesses and facilities restart production lines but also ensures the livelihoods of the people. Ha Tinh Power Company (PC Ha Tinh) is mobilizing all available staff, vehicles, and equipment to urgently inspect and resolve incidents along the entire power line.

Mr. Pham Viet Thang, Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Power Company, said: “The Board of Directors regularly goes directly to the scene to direct power management units to deploy construction teams to khắc phục the damage. The province has received over 500 additional staff from 9 power companies including: Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Son La, Bac Ninh, Lai Chau, Hai Phong, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and the Northern Power Service Company, coordinating with 8 power management teams in the area to participate in support. Thanks to this, the progress of restoring power after the storm has been significantly accelerated.”

Many large-scale aquaculture businesses and cooperatives must make the most of their time to quickly stabilize the water environment.

In the agricultural sector, many large-scale aquaculture enterprises and cooperatives must make the most of their time to quickly stabilize the water environment and repair infrastructure systems in order to minimize damage.

Mr. Ho Quang Dung, Technical Director of Xuan Thanh Aquaculture Cooperative (Nghi Xuan commune), said: “More than 3 million shrimp fry were released a month ago. At this stage, shrimp are particularly sensitive to environmental changes due to their weak resistance and susceptibility to shock. If we don't address the problems promptly, the damage after the floods will be many times greater. Therefore, the cooperative has urgently dug and reinforced the infrastructure; repaired the roofs of the feed storage houses; and implemented disease prevention measures such as balancing water salinity, reducing feed rations by 30-50% compared to normal, and supplementing with Vitamin C, minerals, and digestive enzymes to increase the shrimp's resistance to changes in weather and environment.”

Businesses are focusing their efforts on stabilizing production and business operations as soon as possible.

Despite proactive efforts to quickly stabilize operations, given the significant damage caused by Typhoon No. 10, the business community in Ha Tinh urgently needs additional support policies regarding capital, infrastructure, and resources. This is a crucial condition for businesses to quickly recover, stabilize production and business activities, and contribute to maintaining the local economic growth rate.
