Thanh Sen Ward enhances its capacity to implement sustainable poverty reduction.

On the afternoon of December 12th, the People's Committee of Thanh Sen Ward organized a training session to enhance the capacity to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and communication on multidimensional poverty reduction in 2025.

Over the past period, the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Thanh Sen Ward have consistently and decisively directed the work of sustainable poverty reduction, achieving many important results. The poverty rate has decreased rapidly, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have improved significantly. Currently, the ward has 200 poor households, accounting for 1% of the total number of households; and 343 near-poor households, accounting for 1.52% of the total number of households.

However, the implementation of sustainable poverty reduction in the area still faces difficulties. The proportion of people with low incomes remains quite high, and they are affected by market fluctuations, natural disasters, epidemics, and the impacts of climate change.

Mr. Le Dinh Hai, Deputy Head of the Rural Development and Quality Management Sub-Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment), directly taught the course.

Furthermore, in the context of implementing a two-tiered local government system, the officials involved in poverty reduction are mostly new and face some difficulties in adapting to their work. This requires Party committees and authorities to pay attention to and improve the knowledge, skills, and professional procedures of grassroots officials so that they can effectively implement livelihood support programs, mechanisms, and policies; and improve their skills in communicating and mobilizing people to participate in economic development models, contributing to the achievement of multidimensional and sustainable poverty reduction goals.

The training course attracted 250 participants, including officials working on poverty reduction and multidimensional poverty communication at the neighborhood and ward levels.

Participants were introduced to the following topics: analysis of the causes, current situation, and solutions for poverty reduction in Ha Tinh province; and several methods of poverty reduction communication.

During the training course, participants engaged in discussions, exchanges, and sharing of experiences in implementing poverty reduction programs at the grassroots level.
