Ben Johns returns to Vietnam

Ben Johns is the most anticipated player in the PPA Asia Tour - Vietnam Cup 2025 event. Born in 1999, Ben is currently the No. 1 doubles player in the PPA Ranking and is currently second in the global proficiency rating system (DUPR) in men's singles with a score of 6,987.

This is the second time Ben Johns has come to Vietnam, but the first time he has competed in the PPA Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025. At this tournament, Ben participated in the men's doubles event when standing with Dekel Bar (Israel) from the round of 16. However, the appearance of Ben Johns is a big attraction for the Vietnamese pickleball audience. His gentle playing style with delicate dinks and "shooting" on the stove is his strength and helped him become "The GOAT" - a legend who has won more than 100 titles on the PPA Tour in the US in recent years.

Ben Johns has gradually become an inspirational figure and a symbol of pickleball in the world. His presence in Da Nang makes the PPA Tour - Vietnam Cup 2025 one of the biggest and most prestigious pickleball tournaments since the sport was introduced to Vietnam 2 years ago.

Vietnam becomes pickleball destination

From a sport that was considered a combination of tennis, table tennis and badminton, pickleball has gradually become a new competition trend with many advantages. Simple rules, uncomplicated ball playing techniques, easy to communicate and connect...

Gradually, professional athletes from other sports have switched to playing pickleball professionally. Among them are former Vietnamese tennis number 1 Ly Hoang Nam, or Trinh Linh Giang. Both have also had achievements in PPA Tour tournaments with world opponents.

Not only that, pickleball is also a bridge to bring famous overseas Vietnamese tennis players back to their homeland. If before there was Quang Duong (ranked 4th in PPA men's singles), now there are sisters Alix Truong and Jonathan Truong.

The number of 556 people registering to compete in the PPA Tour - Vietnam Cup 2025, both professional and amateur, has shown the new attraction of pickleball. Not only the competition category, the tournament also opens up opportunities to market and promote sports products related to Vietnamese businesses.

With the scale of the top tournament in Vietnam, PPA Asia Tour - Vietnam Cup 2025 must be organized in two separate competition clusters: Tien Son Sports Palace and Tuyen Son Sports Village ( Da Nang ). The tournament will end on October 4 to find the first 5 champions of Vietnam Cup 2025.
