- Recently, Tien Minh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, Kien Moc commune has proactively linked production and sought markets for fattening 3B cattle. This approach has brought about efficiency, gradually increasing income for cooperative members.
In early August 2025, we had the opportunity to visit the commercial cattle breeding model of Tien Minh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, in Ban Moc village, Kien Moc commune. Mr. Nguyen Tien Minh, director of the Cooperative shared: In 2021, the Cooperative was established with 7 members. Previously, the Cooperative mainly raised crossbred cattle, with a total herd of 20 cows. Realizing that 3B cattle farming brings high economic efficiency and stable output, in 2022, we set up a project to borrow 1.5 billion VND and received 100% interest support according to Resolution 08 dated December 10, 2019 of the Provincial People's Council on special policies to encourage investment, develop cooperation, link production and consumption of agricultural and rural products in the province in the period of 2020 - 2025 to expand the scale of the cattle farm with an area of over 700 m2 and invest in machinery and equipment such as: cutting machines, grinding machines, mixing machines...
To help the herd grow healthily, the Cooperative has implemented synchronous techniques in raising and caring for the herd in the form of confinement; transferring science and technology to members of the Cooperative from how to select breeds, care techniques, mixing feed to help cows gain weight evenly; how to prevent and combat common diseases. To ensure the source of animal feed, the Cooperative has also proactively planted 3 hectares of elephant grass, 6 sao of corn and fermented more elephant grass to reserve food. In particular, the Cooperative also directly produces cattle feed from corn, soybean meal, green beans and adds vitamins and minerals to provide enough nutrients for the herd. At the same time, the Cooperative has proactively learned and visited effective fattening cattle models in and outside the province to gain more experience in animal husbandry.
Mr. Hoang Van Hoi, Chairman of Kien Moc Commune People's Committee |
Mr. Vuong Van Truong, a member of the cooperative, said: Previously, my family raised crossbred cattle in the form of semi-grazing, so the economic efficiency was not high, and traders often forced down the price. Since joining the cooperative, I have been instructed and learned more about fattening cattle raising techniques, how to ferment elephant grass, and knowledge in preventing and treating diseases for livestock... If in the past, raising cattle in the form of semi-grazing took me more than 1 year to raise a litter for sale, now it takes from 6 to 10 months to sell. Since joining the cooperative, my family has an average income of about 100 million VND per year.
Currently, the Cooperative maintains a 3B fattening cattle model with a scale of 65 to 70 cows. On average, each year, the Cooperative sells 50 to 70 commercial cows to the market, bringing in revenue of over 2 billion VND, creating an income for members of 100 to 150 million VND/year after deducting expenses.
In the coming time, Tien Minh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative will continue to apply science and technology to fattening 3B cattle. At the same time, it will expand its scale, invest in modern machinery to produce organic fertilizer, and utilize livestock waste to meet the increasing demand of the market.
