Due to the burden of making a living and helping his parents support his two younger sisters' education, Truong Hieu left school early after finishing 10th grade and accepted a strenuous job as a construction worker.
In 2014, Truong Hieu completed his military service. Returning to his hometown, driven by his passion for raising chickens, he started his business with limited capital and experience. Initially, he raised about 30 chicks. Because the chicks were of good quality, beautiful, and healthy, many people came to inquire about buying them.
Recognizing the high economic efficiency of raising breeding chickens, Mr. Hieu decided to expand his farming operation. He invested in new facilities and increased his flock to 50-70 breeding chickens to supply the market.

Mr. Le Truong Hieu is planning to expand his chicken breeding model to increase his income.
The path to entrepreneurship is far from smooth. Mr. Hieu vividly remembers his major failure in 2021. Due to unusual weather conditions, coupled with a lack of farming experience and a disease outbreak, he couldn't save his flock of chickens and lost over 100 million VND. Mr. Hieu said: "Failure was a costly lesson. I realized that raising chickens in large quantities requires mastering techniques, especially disease prevention and building proper chicken coops."
Undeterred, Mr. Hieu continued to invest in high-quality chicken breeds to rebuild his flock. In 2024, recognizing his perseverance and the economic effectiveness of his model, the O Mon Ward Youth Union supported Mr. Hieu with a loan of 100 million VND to invest in building sturdy chicken coops, increasing the number of breeding chickens to over 100. To date, Mr. Hieu owns approximately 200 breeding chickens of various sizes, including about 70 adult chickens with a stable selling price of 2-3 million VND/chicken. On average, he sells about 4-5 breeding chickens to the market each month.
Mr. Hieu leveraged social media platforms to expand his business. Thanks to this, he has many customers from provinces such as An Giang, Tay Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, with 100m² for the chicken coop and 200m² of garden land for natural farming, Mr. Hieu's model is developing steadily. He plans to rent an additional 1,000m² of garden land to expand his facility and increase the number of chickens to boost his income.
Mr. Le Tran Hoang Thien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Secretary of the O Mon Ward Youth Union, said: “Mr. Le Truong Hieu is a young, dynamic, responsible, and active cadre in the Youth Union work and youth movement in the locality. In addition, Mr. Hieu has developed an effective economic development model with a stable income, which the Ward Youth Union has studied, promoted, and supported its members and young people in replicating.”
