The Partners all affirmed their respect for ASEAN, their desire for extensive and substantive cooperation, and effective response to challenges. The countries also emphasized their desire to jointly promote dialogue and cooperation towards an open, transparent, inclusive region, upholding international law with ASEAN at the center.
* At the 26th ASEAN-China Summit, Chinese Premier Li Qiang highlighted the importance of the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, saying that this was achieved thanks to the efforts of both sides, cultivating strategic trust, mutual support, win-win cooperation, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development.

Prime Minister Li Cuong affirmed that with mutual understanding and respect, the relationship will overcome all difficulties and challenges, together pursuing the goals of peace , cooperation and development aspirations in the future.
ASEAN and Chinese leaders were pleased to note that two-way trade turnover reached a new record of 722 billion USD; China has become ASEAN's largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years. Welcoming the progress of negotiations to upgrade the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area, the two sides agreed to continue to promote economic , trade and investment cooperation, stabilize the supply chain, support market access, and expand cooperation in digital transformation, digital economy, climate change response, energy transition, green and sustainable development, etc. The conference agreed that 2024 is the Year of ASEAN-China People-to-People Exchange.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the mutual support between China's development and the ASEAN Community's solidarity, unity, and central role in the region. This is a solid foundation for the comprehensive strategic partnership to develop strongly. The Prime Minister hopes that China and ASEAN will not only be each other's largest economic and trade partners but also one of each other's most important comprehensive strategic partners for peace, cooperation, and development.
The Prime Minister suggested that as leading trade partners of each other, ASEAN and China need to closely coordinate to make the region a center of regional economic growth. It is necessary to take advantage of geographical proximity, improve the quality of economic, trade and investment cooperation, maintain smooth trade, promote connectivity, ensure production and supply chains, and expand cooperation in developing the digital economy and green economy.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister proposed that China expand its market, increase the quota of transit goods and speed up the opening process for agricultural, aquatic and fruit products from ASEAN countries to transit through Vietnam to penetrate the Chinese market.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope that the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will be effective, maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and mutually developing environment in the region. At the same time, it will be a positive factor in promoting trust building, enhancing dialogue, and peacefully resolving disputes in the region, including the East Sea, contributing to the full implementation of the DOC and the early achievement of an effective and efficient COC in accordance with the 1982 UNCLOS.
The meeting adopted the Joint Statement on Mutually Beneficial Cooperation Based on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and the Joint Statement on Deepening Agricultural Cooperation.
* At the 24th ASEAN-Korea Summit, speaking on behalf of ASEAN as the coordinator of ASEAN-Korea relations, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the ASEAN-Korea Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Cooperation continues to be strengthened, and welcomed the proposal of the ASEAN-Korea Solidarity Initiative (KASI) by Korea to enhance bilateral relations. The Prime Minister thanked the countries for supporting the ASEAN-Korea Day initiative to be held in Vietnam in November 2023.
Looking forward to the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Korea relations in 2024, the Prime Minister suggested that both sides should make joint efforts to open a new journey with a longer vision and higher goals.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to create a major shift in economic cooperation, promoting trade and investment in a balanced and sustainable manner. At the same time, he hoped that Korea would further open its market to export goods such as agricultural and aquatic products, seasonal fruits from ASEAN countries, support ASEAN enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain of Korean enterprises, and create conditions for ASEAN enterprises to expand investment opportunities in Korea.

In order to enhance cooperation for a sustainable development future for the people of both sides, the Prime Minister proposed to further promote cooperation in digital transformation, biotechnology, high-tech electronics, semiconductors, clean energy, smart cities, high-tech agriculture, building specialized industrial production complexes along the value chain, being environmentally friendly, implementing emission reduction commitments, enhancing cultural exchanges, and promoting Mekong sub-regional cooperation through the framework of the Mekong-Korea Partnership.

The Prime Minister stressed that ASEAN and the Republic of Korea need to coordinate to elevate their partnership, share common interests and responsibilities in ensuring peace, security, stability and development in the region, including the East Sea and the Korean Peninsula.

President Yoon Suk-Yeol thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for Vietnam's important contributions as a coordinator in promoting the strong development of ASEAN-Korea relations in recent times. At the same time, he affirmed that the ASEAN-Korea Solidarity Initiative (KASI) demonstrates Korea's appreciation and commitment to strongly supporting ASEAN's central role as well as ASEAN's AOIP, and working with ASEAN to comprehensively develop the partnership in the coming time.
On this occasion, the President of the Republic of Korea expressed his hope that ASEAN countries would support Korea's hosting of the EXPO in Busan, Korea in 2030, creating a forum for exchange and seeking solutions to common challenges of humanity, towards a better future for the region and the world.

Leaders of ASEAN and the Republic of Korea welcomed the positive progress in bilateral cooperation in all areas. The Republic of Korea is ASEAN's fifth largest trade and investment partner, with two-way trade turnover of 222.8 billion USD and total FDI from the Republic of Korea reaching 12.7 billion USD in 2022. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in responding to emerging non-traditional security challenges such as combating transnational crime, cyber security, maritime security cooperation; promote trade, support businesses, startups, cultural exchanges, education, tourism, and expand cooperation in potential areas such as science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, infrastructure, clean energy, smart cities, sustainable urbanization and future industries.
At the end of the Conference, the two leaders adopted the ASEAN-Korea Joint Statement on cooperation based on AOIP.
* The 26th ASEAN-Japan Summit adopted a Joint Statement establishing the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking a new milestone in the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations. The parties pledged to closely coordinate to successfully organize the Commemorative Summit in December 2023 in Tokyo.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio highlighted the importance of the trustful, heart-to-heart partnership with ASEAN, with important achievements over the past five decades, actively contributing to peace, stability and sustainable prosperity in the region.
The Japanese Prime Minister reaffirmed his support for ASEAN's solidarity and centrality as well as ASEAN's AOIP, and pledged to continue to actively participate in and make positive and effective contributions to ASEAN-led mechanisms.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Kishida hopes to welcome ASEAN Leaders to the Commemorative Summit in Tokyo next December, affirming that this is a golden opportunity to look back on the past 50 years and set out directions, create new momentum, and develop bilateral relations strongly in the future.

ASEAN-Japan cooperation has achieved many results. Japan is ASEAN's fourth largest trading partner and second largest investment partner, with trade turnover reaching 268.5 billion USD, up 11.2% over the same period last year. Total investment capital from Japan reached 26.7 billion USD, up 27.7% over the same period last year. ASEAN highly appreciated Japan's additional contribution of 100 million USD to the ASEAN-Japan Integration Fund, supporting ASEAN in establishing and operating the ASEAN Center for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED).
Looking to the future, the two sides agreed to maintain and promote trade and investment exchanges, stabilize production and supply chains, effectively implement the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) and the RCEP Agreement, promote cooperation in counter-terrorism and transnational crime, maritime security, disaster management, people-to-people and youth exchanges, innovation, digital transformation, development of electric vehicle ecosystems, energy, climate change response, clean energy transformation, and green growth.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that as an ASEAN member and an extensive strategic partner of Japan, Vietnam pledges to do its utmost to contribute to deepening the relationship, making it more effective and substantive.
The Prime Minister proposed to make economic cooperation a key pillar and driving force for the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Accordingly, he proposed that Japan facilitate ASEAN countries' exports to the Japanese market and support regional enterprises to participate more deeply in the supply chain of Japanese enterprises and the global supply chain. Affirming that Vietnam and ASEAN countries have been and will facilitate the operations of more than 15,000 Japanese enterprises, the Prime Minister hoped that Japanese strategic investors would join hands with ASEAN to further promote emerging and potential cooperation areas such as green economy, digital economy, circular economy, etc.
Emphasizing that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership should aim for a sustainable development future for the people, the Prime Minister welcomed and affirmed his readiness to realize the idea of building the region into a center of innovation. At the same time, he suggested focusing on developing high-quality human resources, people-to-people exchange, culture, tourism, and creating favorable conditions for people from ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, who are working and living in Japan.
The Prime Minister suggested that Japan actively coordinate with ASEAN to effectively implement Japan's initiatives on energy transition and the Asian net zero emission community, and together with ASEAN support the Mekong sub-region countries in managing and sustainably using water resources and improving their capacity to respond to climate change.

* Discussing regional and international issues, ASEAN reaffirmed its common stance on regional and international situations, including the situation in the East Sea, Myanmar, and the Korean Peninsula. Partner countries acknowledged and positively evaluated ASEAN's stance, pledging to coordinate to promote satisfactory resolution of emerging issues.
Faced with increasingly complex and unpredictable changes in the region and the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that ASEAN and its partners share common interests and responsibilities in ensuring peace, security, stability and development in the region, including the East Sea.
* In the afternoon of the same day, ASEAN leaders and partners continued to attend ASEAN Summits with partners, including the ASEAN+3 Summit (with partners China, Korea and Japan) and the ASEAN+1 Summits with the United States and Canada.
