This is the first time the HDPE cage model has been piloted in the open sea area of Khanh Hoa province. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to be the unit assigned to preside over the implementation, ensuring expertise, feasibility and conformity with the local marine economic development orientation. Accordingly, Khanh Hoa province has piloted a high-tech marine farming model in the open sea area of Cam Lap commune, Cam Ranh city with 10 pioneer households. These households will be supported by Thien Tam Fund - Vingroup Corporation with a high-tech marine farming model using HDPE materials and modern automation systems.

All cages have underwater camera surveillance systems, marine positioning systems, and 24/7 remote monitoring on all electronic devices; the farming models will be equipped with automatic feeding machines, moving towards industrial farming models.

After the pilot phase, Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Vingroup Corporation will continue to accompany fishermen in the province in promoting the development of modern farming models, applying high technology to increase economic value and promote the strengths of local seafood. The pilot model will be implemented for 1 year, after which the province will summarize and evaluate the program.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, said that the high-tech marine aquaculture pilot program is a breakthrough result of the orientation of developing open marine aquaculture in the province, including: calling on enterprises to invest in industrial aquaculture using modern cages and promoting research and application of science and technology. This is one of the key tasks of Action Program No. 30-Ctr/TU of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Plan No. 10823/KH-UBND on implementing the Vietnam Fisheries Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Along with the project implementation, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is developing policies to support and encourage investment for farmers, providing training courses and technical consulting support for households participating in open sea farming. This system includes the development and application of regulations and standards on open sea farming, regulations on management and use of sea farming areas, as well as the development of response plans in case of incidents and protection of the marine environment.

The project will not only help create more jobs and increase income for people, but also contribute to the development of Khanh Hoa's marine economy, helping the province make the best use of aquatic resources. At the same time, the project also plays an important role in protecting the marine environment, through the application of high technology and access to scientific advances in marine aquaculture.

HDPE cages are made from high-molecular-weight polyethylene plastic particles with high durability, not only good water resistance, UV resistance, good wind and storm resistance but also very safe and environmentally friendly. HDPE cages will bring long-term savings to investors.
