Spreading community service activities

Leveraging the central role of national unity, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Quang Ninh province has always considered caring for the poor and those in difficult circumstances as a regular political task. With a spirit of solidarity and mutual support within the community, many meaningful and humane activities have been implemented, clearly affirming the Front's role in ensuring social security and sustainable poverty reduction.

During the emulation campaign to celebrate the Quang Ninh Provincial Fatherland Front Congress for the 2025-2030 term, many local Fatherland Front committees in the province have chosen to carry out social welfare activities, caring for those in difficult circumstances and giving them motivation to improve their lives. A prime example is the Tien Yen Commune Fatherland Front Committee, which recently donated breeding pigs and provided livelihood support to three disadvantaged families in Dong Dinh village. Using the approach of "giving a fishing rod rather than a fish," the commune's Fatherland Front aims to encourage the proactive spirit and determination of these poor households, raising their awareness of overcoming their circumstances and achieving sustainable poverty alleviation. Therefore, not only did they hand over the breeding pigs, but the commune's Fatherland Front officials and the village's Fatherland Front Committee also continuously visited, encouraged, and advised the families on good livestock farming techniques, how to build barns, prepare feed, and how to handle common disease outbreaks.

Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tien Yen commune, said: “The Resolution of the first Congress of the Fatherland Front of Tien Yen commune set out 10 specific goals, 2 breakthrough tasks, and 6 action programs. These include the task of building self-governing, united, prosperous, and happy residential areas, especially focusing on social welfare. The mobilization of social resources, providing livestock and seedlings to near-poor and disadvantaged households to create sustainable livelihoods, demonstrates the urgent and responsible spirit of the Fatherland Front of Tien Yen commune right from the beginning of the new term.”

Officials from the Fatherland Front of Hiep Hoa ward inspect the progress of the construction of the "Great Solidarity" house.

In Hiep Hoa ward, the focus of the Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations during this period was addressing housing difficulties for near-poor households. A review revealed several new cases of disadvantaged families whose houses were dilapidated and damaged by storms, requiring timely repairs or reconstruction to ensure safety. These families inevitably faced concerns and confusion regarding the relevant administrative procedures. Therefore, the responsible officials of the ward and neighborhood committees were directly involved in resolving these issues for the residents. During construction, the working group closely monitored each stage of the project and urged progress. As a result, the social welfare task of eliminating all temporary housing was ensured to meet the planned schedule and quality standards.

Not only during the practical emulation campaign to celebrate the Congress, but also in other areas, activities of mutual support and social welfare have always been a key focus of the work of the Quang Ninh Provincial Fatherland Front in recent years. With the strong support and trust of the community, the Fatherland Front continues to be a reliable address for receiving valuable contributions from philanthropists, maintaining the Fund for the Poor to operate effectively, openly, and transparently. Through this, the tradition of mutual support is preserved, and the strength of solidarity and unity among the people is promoted. This aligns with the province's motto of always striving to ensure that all Quang Ninh citizens enjoy the fruits of development and inclusive growth, leaving no one behind.

The Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Tu Ward presented 34 gifts to disadvantaged families to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day.

Over the past period, the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind" has been actively implemented by the Provincial Fatherland Front, integrated with national target programs, campaigns, and movements led and coordinated by the Fatherland Front, aiming to effectively utilize all resources. In the past two years, the Fatherland Front has meticulously coordinated activities to care for disadvantaged households during Tet (Lunar New Year); mobilizing and donating nearly 210,000 gifts worth nearly 145 billion VND during the Lunar New Year. The Fatherland Front also mobilized social resources and coordinated support for the construction of 472 solidarity houses and 93 sanitary toilets for disadvantaged families with a total cost of over 27 billion VND, contributing to the elimination of 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses throughout the province.

Relief and rescue efforts have been promptly and effectively implemented. For example, the Fatherland Front at all levels promptly implemented measures to mitigate the consequences of Typhoon Yagi in 2024; organized visits, provided encouragement and support to people to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives; and requested the Provincial People's Committee to develop and submit to the Provincial People's Council for promulgation appropriate and timely social security policies. In 2025, responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people affected by storms and floods, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee launched a campaign, received a large amount of donations from the community, and distributed over 73 billion VND to support affected households in the province and provided assistance to provinces and cities severely affected. Similarly, when the tourist boat Vinh Xanh 58 capsized in Ha Long Bay, the Fatherland Front received 2.7 billion VND in donations from collectives, individuals, and organizations, and promptly visited and supported the victims and their families.

Through practical and effective social welfare activities, the Fatherland Front at all levels in Quang Ninh province has contributed to spreading the tradition of mutual assistance and the spirit of national unity. This further affirms the Front's role as a solid bridge between the Party, the government, and the people, mobilizing community strength to jointly build a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Quang Ninh, progressing alongside the rest of the country in the new era.
