Who is in difficulty, accept it

During the journey of "Joining hands for the poor" in recent days, the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee went to Kim Van village (Van Lang commune) to present a "0 VND booth" to the local people. The "0 VND booth" in Kim Van village was formed on the basis of more than 3,000 union members donating over 50 million VND, including warm blankets, life jackets, rice, milk, household items, books, clothes for children... The model was implemented with the motto "Giving the right items to the right people" and "Giving what people really need".

Right after the "Zero-dong booth" model was deployed, we had the opportunity to talk with the Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee's Youth Union, Bui Nhat Ha, who directly initiated the program, about the meaning and impact of this activity.

Mr. Bui Nhat Ha shared: After the success of the Provincial Youth Union Congress, we have called on grassroots organizations of the Youth Union to participate in building "Zero-dong stalls". This model not only aims at providing necessities for people in difficult circumstances, but also conveys a message of empathy, solidarity and social responsibility, contributing to spreading humanistic values, building a warm and cohesive community.

Previously, the Youth Union of Phan Dinh Phung Ward, Tan Long Ward, Bang Thanh Commune also launched a "Zero-VND booth" with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND. This is a bright spot in social security activities, attracting the attention and support of the community. Not only is it a place to give away free necessities, the booth is also a symbol of the spirit of compassion, sharing and responsibility to the community of the youth.

What makes the booth special is not just that it is “free”, but the message it wants to convey: those who are in need should receive, those who are capable should contribute. Thanks to that, the model operates sustainably, with a continuous flow of love being added.

Creative ways

From a few initial booths, the model quickly spread to many youth organizations, agencies, businesses and residential areas. In each place, the "Zero-VND Booth" was created in its own way: some places organized mobile booths in remote areas, some combined them with weekend markets, and some units integrated them into winter-spring volunteer activities.

For example, the “Zero-dong booth” in Bang Thanh commune, located at the place where Citizen ID cards are made, Bang Thanh commune police headquarters. Thereby, children and people not only come to make documents but also visit, experience and receive gifts from the “Zero-dong booth” full of love.

This spread shows the power of the Youth Union movement: Starting from small actions but can create a big impact. “Zero-dong stalls” help the recipient feel shared without feeling guilty, helping the giver feel joy when contributing to the community. This is also a lively educational environment, helping young people practice compassion, knowing how to care about sustainable values instead of mere material things.

A representative of Thai Nguyen Provincial Youth Union said: In the coming time, Youth Union chapters at many agencies and units will continue to set the goal of expanding the model, diversifying products, connecting more social resources and building booths in a civilized, friendly and accessible direction. Thereby, the movement will not only stop at support but also create a culture of sharing in the community.
