Replicating the model
Mr. Tran Sau's family (Dien Khanh town, Dien Khanh district) is a poor household in the locality. 11 years ago, his son died in an accident, leaving behind two grandchildren of school age. He worked as a security guard at Dien Khanh Temple of Literature and together with his wife grew vegetables to sell to earn money to take care of his two grandchildren. Understanding the hardships of their grandparents, Tran Quoc Hien (born in 2005) and Tran Quoc Hau (born in 2009) always try to study well. Currently, Hien is a second-year student at Khanh Hoa University, Hau is a student at Dien Khanh Vocational College. Mr. Sau always encourages his grandchildren to try to study hard, practice morality to become good citizens. According to Mr. Sau, Dien Khanh Temple of Literature worships Confucius and every year holds a ceremony to award prizes and scholarships to filial and good students of the district. Taking care of the Temple of Literature is not only a job, through which he alsoeducates and propagates to his grandchildren and students to follow good examples and strive to overcome difficulties to study well. With his contributions, in 2024, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Association for Promoting Education for his outstanding achievements in the movement to promote learning and talent, building a learning society. Every year, his family is awarded the title of "Cultural Family"; in 2022 and 2023, it was recognized as a "Learning Family".

The family of Ms. Dang Thi Xuan Hoe (Phuoc Hai ward, Nha Trang city) has 3 children who all graduated from university and have a master's degree. Both her husband and her husband are people who have contributed to the revolution. After her husband passed away, she lived with her eldest son, Mr. Do Chi Kien and his wife. Due to the working conditions of her children, Ms. Hoe welcomed her 3 grandchildren to live with her and take care of their education. Together with her mother, raising the grandchildren, Mr. Kien is always a shining example for them to follow. As a school librarian, Mr. Kien has many initiatives in developing a reading culture and has been awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He participates in the education promotion work of the city, of the Do family in Nha Trang city and Khanh Hoa province; has been awarded many certificates of merit, certificates of merit from all levels and commemorative medals for the cause of education promotion. Mr. Kien said that to form the will and determination to study and improve for his grandchildren, he often guides them to read books, newspapers, and view useful information; learn about social sciences , good people - good deeds; participate in sports to improve health, improve foreign languages... Promoting the revolutionary tradition and studious family, the children are all good and studious, achieving many high achievements. The family has been recognized as a cultural family for many years.
Step up implementation
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Mai - Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education said: "Learning Family" is one of the five basic models to build a learning society, which has been widely deployed by associations at all levels throughout the province. By the end of 2024, the whole province had 227,937 families achieving the title of "Learning Family" out of a total of 310,006 families. To achieve the above results, associations at all levels have promoted and raised awareness for households in many forms; built indicators and supported families to achieve the criteria of "Learning Family". At the same time, professional training on assessing the title of learning citizen; building families, clans, units, and learning societies; topics on law, traffic safety, crime prevention, building cultural families in residential areas... In addition to praising, rewarding, and replicating advanced models in implementation, the association at all levels also mobilizes resources to support families in difficult circumstances, creating conditions for students to go to school. From November 2024 to the end of May 2025, the whole province mobilized more than 10.7 billion VND; awarded 37,138 prizes and scholarships with a total amount of more than 9.6 billion VND.

In the coming time, the Association at all levels will continue to promote the building of "Learning Families"; organize seminars on encouraging learning and talent; train software tools to evaluate and recognize "Learning Citizens" according to regulations. Along with that, actively mobilize resources to build a Fund for encouraging learning and talent to reward students who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies; teachers who overcome difficulties and complete their tasks well; the elderly who study well, promote initiatives, and experience in production to contribute to the development of the family and local economy...
