Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized: The "For a Developed Hai Phong " Press Award has been held annually since 2019. After 6 times of organization, the Award has received the participation of over 1,200 press works and hundreds of journalists and reporters, which affirms the prestige of the Award.
The quality and quantity of participating works have been improved over each season, with many series of reports in print, television and radio. Many products are electronic newspaper works in the form of photo reports, long articles and large content, beautifully and elaborately presented in the fields of transportation, urban planning, new rural areas, digital transformation, tourism, social security... highlighting the innovations, strong growth, affirming the position and stature of Hai Phong city...
The year 2025 is considered to have a particularly important significance for the country and Hai Phong city, with many major and breakthrough policies and resolutions, Hai Phong strives to become the leading economic center in the North and Southeast Asia, one of the leading cities in seaports, industry, logistics and sustainable tourism; celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the 2025 Red Flamboyant Festival; celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025)...
Therefore, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has chosen the theme: Hai Phong - Friendly City, with the desire to receive many press works aiming at the city's efforts with a friendly and open government towards organizations, businesses and people; all aspects of life are of interest to the city, a healthy, airy, safe and favorable environment for investors and FDI enterprises to learn, invest and expand production and business in the locality; creating new economic growth momentum, affirming its position as a center of marine economy, an international logistics service center, an important growth pole of the region and the whole country; being a friendly and safe destination for domestic and international tourists, the city continues to promote its potential and advantages to expand its development space, being a model city leading in the era of national development...
At the same time, contributing to spreading and encouraging the city to successfully implement the goals of the Resolution of the 16th City Party Congress: "By 2025, Hai Phong city will basically complete the industrialization and modernization; become a modern industrial city; be a key center for marine economic development, an international tourism center; complete the construction of the city's administrative - political center in the North Cam River Urban Area; improve the material and spiritual life of the people...
The Organizing Committee hopes that authors and groups of authors will spend time researching the theme of the 7th “For a Developing Hai Phong” journalism award; choose perspectives and articles that are suitable for the award rules, and invest time to have quality journalism works, contributing to the development of Hai Phong city.
At the same time, it is recommended that leaders of departments, branches, localities, units and press agencies in the city create favorable conditions for providing source information to press agencies to develop works and promote the city.
Central and city press agencies create conditions for journalists and reporters to submit their works to participate in the Department's press awards. Journalists, reporters and editors actively responded, created content and had quality press works participating in the awards...
According to the Rules, the participants of the Press Award are Vietnamese citizens whose press works are published and broadcast on media licensed by competent authorities and in accordance with the Rules. The authors participating in the Award must not violate the regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, the Press Law and other current laws...
The press works participating in the award are works in the following categories: print, electronic, audio and visual newspapers published and broadcast from January 1 to October 30, 2025. The content of the works is discovery and creative, contributing to spreading the image of Hai Phong city.
Deadline for submissions is 5.11 (postmark).
Regarding the prize structure, according to the Organizing Committee, the value will increase compared to previous years, including 19 prizes. Specifically: 2 A prizes, 3 B prizes, 4 C prizes and 10 Encouragement prizes with the corresponding amounts of money: 30 million VND, 15 million VND, 7 million VND, 3 million VND and Certificates.
