(QNO) - Completely different from the deserted and desolate atmosphere during the COVID-19 pandemic, many domestic and foreign tourists have now returned to visit and experience the Tra Nhieu community eco- tourism village, Duy Vinh commune (Duy Xuyen).

In early May, Tra Nhieu community eco-tourism village seemed to be bustling with domestic and foreign visitors coming to experience. The village roads were cleared and became cleaner and greener. Tourist service businesses began to upgrade to attract visitors, while boats and basket boats were repaired and repainted to take visitors to visit the coconut forest, cast nets to catch fish on the river...

Along with that, households that make traditional wine and weave sedge mats... are also bustling back. Mr. Pham Minh Tam (Tra Nhieu village, Duy Vinh commune), owner of Co Mot tourist service, is preparing to take a group of Western tourists to go fishing on the Thu Bon river branch with excitement.

Mr. Tam said that his family has been providing basket boat tourism and cooking services for more than 6 years, mainly serving tourists visiting coconut forests and fishing nets. In the beginning, his establishment was very profitable, creating jobs for dozens of local workers.

However, when the COVID-19 epidemic broke out, Mr. Tam's establishment and many other tourism service businesses in Tra Nhieu fell into difficulty due to lack of customers and many unemployed workers.

Currently, the epidemic situation is under control, domestic and foreign tourists are starting to return more and more. Every day, Mr. Tam's tourism service business welcomes dozens of visitors, with the price of boating or dining services ranging from 100,000 to 150,000 VND/2 people, so it is a favorite choice of many tourists.

Mr. Tam shared: “To attract tourists, I find ways to introduce myself to tour guides, or post images of Tra Nhieu village on social networks to promote... Now that tourists are coming back like this, not only me but most people working in tourism are very happy and try to provide good services to impress tourists from everywhere who come to this land."

Tourists returning to Tra Nhieu not only help tourism businesses increase revenue, but also create many jobs for local workers, especially elderly women.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Chieu (1962, Tra Dong village, Duy Vinh) works as a rower on a small boat carrying passengers and said: "When participating in community tourism, I have more opportunities to welcome guests, earn a few million VND more each month, and improve my family's life."

Two tourists, Lasman Vered and Lasman Yoel from Israel, who just participated in boating to release fish with Tra Nhieu fishermen, expressed their delight at the experience on the river. Lasman Vered happily said: “We have traveled to the central provinces of Vietnam, and this is the first time we have come to Tra Nhieu eco-tourism area. In the countryside, the women are very nice and hospitable, so I really like this tour.”

Tra Nhieu Village is located at the confluence of the lower reaches of the Thu Bon River, Ly Ly River and Truong Giang River before flowing into Cua Dai Beach. Visitors can reach Tra Nhieu Village from My Son by road along Highway DT610 from Nam Phuoc junction (Duy Xuyen) about 10km east.

From afar, Tra Nhieu looks like a deserted, deserted island. In July 2010, Tra Nhieu community eco-tourism village was officially established, opening up opportunities for eco-tourism development for local people. Some businesses have invested in tourism services here but have not brought about the expected results.

Mr. Sau Nguyen Sau - Chairman of Duy Vinh Commune People's Committee informed that in Tra Nhieu community tourism village, there are about 5 households providing experiential tourism services. During the years when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, this place was quite quiet, but now it is somewhat more bustling when tourists return.

“The government creates conditions for tourism businesses to experience boating and rafting in shallow areas, but not in deep river sections. At the same time, it reminds tourism service businesses to wear life jackets when transporting tourists on the water to ensure safety,” said Mr. Sau.
