By chance, through an acquaintance, I was introduced to the book "A Quiet Journey." This is the latest book about veteran, businessman, and Hero of the People's Armed Forces Phan Van Quy - Chairman of the Pacific Group.

The book, written by Colonel and journalist Nguyen Duy Tuong - Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, was published and widely distributed by the People's Army Publishing House.

Colonel and journalist Nguyen Duy Tuong is the author of dozens of memoirs of politicians and military generals, leaving his mark on the literary world in the autobiographical genre. Now, he portrays the life of a soldier, a heroic truck driver during the Truong Son War, a successful businessman, a dedicated National Assembly representative, and a compassionate and visionary social activist with many unique ideas. We are also somewhat familiar with Phan Van Quy through the books "The Road Ahead" by Colonel and journalist Trong Phien, and "The Pioneer" and "Still a Soldier" edited by Colonel and journalist Tran Hoang Tien.

The brilliance and skill of Nguyen Duy Tuong in this book lies in its conciseness and universality; not to mention that the book's title itself reflects the character of the hero on his journey of social and charitable work as a quiet traveler. Those who have already read them will find this new book supplementary information about the way of thinking and acting in the quiet yet highly effective social and charitable work of the hero we once cherished.

In "A Quiet Journey," we see that amidst the busy work of leading a private economic group, Phan Van Quy also holds many important responsibilities in social organizations. In particular, programs honoring martyrs and families who contributed to the revolution, community projects supporting disaster prevention, scholarship funds, new rural planning programs, and city planning for peace... are all initiated, funded, and promoted by him.

In particular, the writing competitions "Deep Gratitude" and "The Spirit of Truong Son," which he initiated and co-organized, attracted thousands of participants, leaving a profound impression of gratitude and camaraderie. Many of the submitted works are valuable documents from those involved, which the competition organizers have compiled and published as books to preserve and inspire future generations.

Throughout his journey of social and charitable work for the community, Phan Van Quy always intentionally invites many people to join him in spreading positive values ​​more widely. When participating in organizing programs, he always actively contributes ideas and directly participates in implementation. Once the organizations' activities are effective, he steps back to pursue new projects, most recently his proposal to the competent state agencies to establish the "Finding the Names of Our Comrades" Fund, to participate in the program to identify the remains of fallen soldiers, which has been reported in the media.
