Stick to the plan to implement the 3-level Sports Festival
Up to now, many communes in Lang Son province have successfully organized Sports Festivals at all levels. Typically: Gia Cat Commune Sports Festival (a model commune-level Sports Festival of the province) attracted over 470 athletes from 15 delegations; Xuan Duong Commune Sports Festival had 105 athletes from 7 villages in the commune participating; Loc Binh Town Sports Festival had 460 athletes participating;... Communes organized competitions in 5 or more sports, focusing on sports that are popular with the people. According to the plan, the time to organize the Commune-level Sports Festival will end before June 30, 2025.

For the District Sports Festival, competitions will be organized in 10 or more sports, including Athletics, Swimming, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, etc., martial arts and other sports that are popular with the people, and the organization will be completed before December 31, 2025. Lang Son also encourages the organization of Sports Festivals at the sectoral and unit levels, based on specific conditions, to organize competitions in 5 or more sports; the organization time will be from October 1, 2024 and completed before December 31, 2025.
After that, the Provincial Sports Festival will be held with 16 sports, including: Athletics, Swimming, Men's Football, Women's Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, Vovinam, Cross-country running, Chinese Chess, Chess, Tug of War, Crossbow Shooting, Stick Pushing, Taekwondo, to be completed before April 30, 2026.
To ensure the success of the Congress, the Organizing Committee has established subcommittees to assist in developing a detailed overall scenario, assigning specific tasks, and actively coordinating and guiding sectors and units to mobilize forces to practice marching, marching and performing in unison; strengthening inspection and monitoring of progress so that the implementation of the work content is tight and effective. Accordingly, the subcommittees have promptly coordinated and effectively implemented the assigned tasks; promoted propaganda work in many forms.

This is also an opportunity for athletes to learn, improve their professional qualifications and competition experience; a healthy and useful playground to continue responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and contribute to promoting the province's physical training and sports movement to develop further.
2025 will be the year of the 10th Provincial Sports Festival. Drawing on experience from the model Congress, we continue to perfect specific directives and guidelines for the grassroots to develop implementation plans, prepare forces, and necessary elements to organize the Sports Festival on schedule. At the same time, we will gradually develop a detailed program and plan to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 10th Provincial Sports Festival, scheduled to be held in early 2026. Mr. Tue added.
In addition, the professional sector also advised on the issuance of the Regulations for organizing 10 sports before the 10th Provincial Sports Congress. In addition to preparing contents for the Provincial Sports Congress, sports federations and professional units also set specific goals to promote the mass sports movement and improve the quality of high-performance sports in the new year.
In 2022, the 9th Sports Congress at all levels of Lang Son province was successfully organized, 200/200 communes, wards, towns and 11/11 districts and cities organized sports congresses at commune and district levels. Sports congresses at all levels were organized with full content, in the right order, ensuring security, safety, efficiency, suitable to the conditions of each locality, creating a vibrant atmosphere, promoting the development of the sports movement at the grassroots level.

The success of the Sports Festival at all levels is part of the province's sports development plan.
From the successful organization of the Sports Festival at all levels, the sports movement in Lang Son province has achieved positive results, attracting a large number of people to participate in sports training. The rate of people practicing sports regularly continues to increase every year. If in 2023, this rate reached 37.1%, by the end of 2024, this figure is estimated to reach 37.6% (an increase of 0.5% corresponding to an increase of over 4,000 people). At the same time, the rate of sports families compared to the total number of families in the whole province in 2024 is estimated to reach 37.1% (an increase of 10.7% compared to 2023)...
Every year, the province holds nearly 1,000 sports competitions at the commune, ward and town levels; 120-130 district and sector level sports competitions and 8-10 provincial level sports competitions for all ages. In particular, there are annual competitions for teenagers and young people, creating conditions for discovering and selecting athletes to focus on training and coaching to participate in high-performance sports competitions.
With high-performance sports, over the years there have been many positive changes, many athletes have excelled in achieving high results, contributing to improving the position of the province's sports. In 2023, Lang Son athletes participating in national sports tournaments won 109 medals of all kinds (28 Gold, 23 Silver, 58 Bronze), of which 14 athletes achieved the title of Master, 16 athletes achieved Level I. In 2024, 103 medals were won (24 Gold, 25 Silver, 54 Bronze), 20 athletes achieved the title of National Master, 17 athletes achieved Level I. By the end of November 2024, the province's high-performance athletes had participated in 25 national and regional sports tournaments, winning 103 medals of all kinds (exceeding 37.3% of the target set for 2024).
At the 9th National Sports Festival, Lang Son province's athletes have excelled beyond their set target by winning a total of 17 medals of all kinds (2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 12 bronze medals) with 15 athletes reaching the level of high-level athletes (2 masters, 13 level 1 athletes). Of which, 7/9 sports have medals. With this result, Lang Son delegation ranked 47th/65 provinces, cities, and sectors; ranked 8th/19 mountainous provinces.
The results achieved, along with careful preparation from the organization of the Sports Congress at all levels and the preparation of athletes competing at the 10th National Sports Congress, will be the foundation for Lang Son to successfully carry out its goals and tasks with the desire to bring Lang Son sports to constantly improve and take further and higher steps in the future.
