In the recent V-League Round 1 match between Hanoi Police FC and Hai Phong FC, Quang Hai was seen playing in a deeper position than usual. Instead of acting as a forward to receive the ball, the CAHN star dropped back to focus on passing the ball to his teammates.

In this match, Quang Hai made at least two passes that put his teammates in one-on-one situations with Hai Phong 's goalkeeper Dinh Trieu. In the first instance in the first half, Artur De Melo successfully capitalized, scoring the opening goal for CAHN. However, in the second instance in the second half, Phan Van Duc was unable to beat the excellent goalkeeper of the Hai Phong team.

Previously, when talking about Quang Hai, people often remembered his explosive plays: dribbling and shooting that left opposing goalkeepers unable to stop, or free kicks with unpredictable ball trajectories. Now, at 27, Quang Hai seems more mature and plays with greater dedication. He is willing to quietly step back, letting his teammates surge forward, ready to play a supporting role for those around him, instead of hogging the "main act." This is a Quang Hai very well suited to the captaincy he currently holds, and it makes both Quang Hai himself and the team he plays for more unpredictable.

Quang Hai's technical skills have certainly not diminished, meaning that when needed and when given space, he can still unleash powerful shots. However, instead of dribbling close to the opponent's penalty area to shoot, Quang Hai can now deliver unexpected passes from near the halfway line or from further away from the penalty area. This means that Quang Hai's range of danger to the opponent is now wider. At the same time, opponents find it harder to predict his movements: they don't know when Quang Hai will combine with a teammate, or when he will finish an attack himself.

Quang Hai remains one of the most important stars of the Vietnamese national team.

That's at the club level, but at the national team level, with Hoang Duc currently struggling with his form, the Vietnamese team in the recent match against Thailand relied too heavily on Que Ngoc Hai's long passes. The fact that Quang Hai's passing is getting better and his ability to organize the game is improving is a very positive sign for the Vietnamese team.

Coach Kim Sang-sik will have more options for deploying the national team's attack. If Van Toan returns, and if Tien Linh continues to maintain his current good form, Quang Hai's passes to Van Toan for sprints, and to Tien Linh for opportunities to finish, will increase Vietnam's goal-scoring potential in the coming days.
