The Xuân Trường commune's permanent militia squad is helping the people of Thiêng Lầu hamlet, Xuân Trường commune, harvest rice.

According to Major Nong Xuan Truong, Commander of the Xuan Truong Commune Military Command, the commune's militia force regularly coordinates closely with patrol and guard forces to avoid being caught off guard in any situation. He also stated that after the administrative unit merger, the Commune Military Command proactively advised the Party Committee and local government on consolidating the organization and personnel, focusing on building and training the militia force. Despite many difficulties, the sense of responsibility and determination of the officers and soldiers have created the strength of this frontline force.

Currently, Xuan Truong commune has 17 hamlets, including 2 border hamlets. The area is large, the lives of the people are still difficult, while smuggling and illegal entry and exit have become increasingly complex at times. In response to this, the local Party committee and government have effectively promoted the core role of the militia force in carrying out local military and national defense tasks. The commune's Military Command has advised on the development of comprehensive training plans, prepared lesson plans, training grounds, practice areas, and training models; and organized practical training. In addition to the prescribed training content, the unit also practices on-site combat and the protection of important targets.

With a border length of 12.7km, the militia of Xuan Truong commune has recently coordinated nearly 200 patrols; cleared more than 8km of border area, improving visibility of border markers. Not only have they successfully completed their combat readiness duties, but the commune's militia also regularly stays close to the area, disseminating information and mobilizing the people to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; publicizing legal documents on the border; and encouraging people to participate in protecting the border and border markers, building a peaceful , friendly, stable, and developing border.

In 2025 and the first three months of 2026, the militia force of Xuan Truong commune contributed over 800 man-days to participate in demolishing temporary and dilapidated houses; leveling, clearing, and concreting more than 2km of rural roads; helping policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged families repair houses and harvest crops; participating in disaster prevention, rescue, and forest fire prevention. Comrade Nong Huu Quyet, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Xuan Truong commune, said: The commune's militia officers and soldiers always clearly understand their responsibilities and have made many practical contributions to the locality, helping to maintain security and order, firmly protect the border and boundary markers, and consolidate the national defense posture in conjunction with the people's security posture in this "borderland" of the Fatherland.
