Ho Chi Minh City leaders extend New Year greetings at the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City.

(NLĐO) - Among the outstanding achievements of Ho Chi Minh City, the contributions and support of priests, religious figures, and the Catholic community in many fields have been significant.


On the afternoon of January 14th, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee visited and extended New Year greetings to the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Phan Van Mai.

Here, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Van Mai, extended his greetings and best wishes for health and happiness to Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, Chairman of the Vietnam Bishops' Conference and Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Phan Van Mai expressed his hope that all work and coordination between the Archbishop's Office and the diocesan institutions, as well as with local authorities at all levels, would be smooth and mutually supportive in successfully completing tasks in the new year.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also informed about some outstanding achievements of Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 and the city's development goals for the future. He also emphasized that the city's outstanding achievements were made possible by the contributions and support of priests, monks, and the Catholic community in many areas.

On the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year, Mr. Phan Van Mai wished Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, the priests, religious, and the Catholic community of Ho Chi Minh City a joyful and warm New Year and continued blessings from God. He also urged Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang and the priests to continue mobilizing the Catholic community to contribute more to the city's development in the future.

In response, Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang respectfully thanked Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Van Mai and the delegation for taking the time to visit the Archbishop's Residence of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City. This demonstrates the affection, concern, and close relationship between the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the Archbishop's Residence and the Catholic community of the city.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang also expressed his joy at the achievements Ho Chi Minh City has made in 2024. The Archbishop shared that he, along with priests and religious, regularly pay attention to the city's issues and see the determination of Ho Chi Minh City's leaders in socio-economic development.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang also affirmed that in the coming time, the Catholic community will make more contributions to environmental protection and cultural development for the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.
