On the morning of May 29th, Tra Nam Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School (Tra Linh commune, Da Nang city) held its closing ceremony for the 2025-2026 school year, with a special reward for outstanding students: a Ngoc Linh ginseng seedling.

According to Mr. Vo Dang Chin, the school principal, this school year the school has 338 students in two levels, including 201 primary school students and 137 secondary school students. At the end of the school year, the entire school had 51 students who achieved the title of excellent or outstanding student.
A special feature of this year's graduation ceremony is that instead of notebooks and certificates of merit like in previous years, each outstanding student received a reward of 5 Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings.
"In previous years, the school awarded prizes in a traditional way. This year, we came up with the idea of donating Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings to motivate students to study and aim for long-term livelihoods," explained Mr. Chin.
With 51 students receiving awards, the school awarded a total of 255 Ngoc Linh ginseng seedlings. To obtain the seedlings, the school allocated funds from its reward budget, solicited additional donations from ginseng-growing households in the area, and received support from teachers within the school.
According to the school administration, this is the first year the school has implemented a reward system using Ngoc Linh ginseng. This model not only serves to motivate students in their studies but also aims to help students in mountainous areas improve their family's economic situation.
Ngoc Linh ginseng is a medicinal plant with high economic value, well-suited to the local climate and soil conditions. The school hopes that the seedlings donated today will become a sustainable source of livelihood, helping students have better opportunities to continue their education in the future.
