Welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam on a state visit to the DPRK

(Dan Tri) - On the morning of October 9, at the Pyongyang Sports Palace, a solemn ceremony was held to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

According to VNA special correspondent, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un presided over the welcoming ceremony.

General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un welcomed General Secretary To Lam on a state visit to North Korea.

The two leaders moved to the official line and introduced the officials of the two countries, then walked up to the podium. The military band played the national anthems of the two countries, accompanied by a 21-gun salute to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

On both sides of the stands were the words "Warm welcome to Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam " and "Long live the solidarity and friendship between the people of Korea and Vietnam".

In the stands, thousands of people joyfully waved the flags of the two countries and shouted to welcome General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un invited General Secretary To Lam to review the honor guard.

After reviewing the honor guard, the two leaders returned to the honor podium to watch the parade and end the welcoming ceremony.

North Korea is one of the first countries in the world to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam (since 1950). This is a traditional friendship that has been carefully cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kim Il Sung and generations of leaders of the two countries.

During the struggle for national liberation, North Korea also stood side by side with and helped Vietnam. Vietnam also always supported and accompanied North Korea in difficult times.

General Secretary To Lam's state visit to North Korea this time continues to affirm Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of valuing relations with traditional friendly countries.

The visit is a very important occasion for the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries to discuss and agree on strategic orientations to inherit and promote the traditional friendship between the two Parties and two countries, strengthen bilateral cooperation in the new period in accordance with relevant international regulations and meet the aspirations and wishes of the people of the two countries...
