The following day, Canada will have its own opening ceremony before their first match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto on June 12th. The lineup of performers includes Alanis Morissette, Michael Buble, Alessia Cara, William Prince, and Sanjoy, a Bangladeshi-American DJ based in Los Angeles.
The highlight of the program in Canada was a recreation of the World Cup trophy inspired by mosaic art. According to FIFA, this idea was intended to reflect the cultural diversity and community spirit of the host country.
Also on June 12th, the US will hold its opening ceremony before the match against Paraguay in Los Angeles. Singer Katy Perry will be the main performer. In addition, the opening ceremony in the US will feature rapper Future and artists Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla.
