DTO - On the morning of April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Executive Committee of the Party, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification took place in the heroic atmosphere of the historic April 30th, in the heroic city named after beloved President Ho Chi Minh. General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day - the most brilliant milestone in the history of building and defending the country of the nation; marked the glorious end of the 30-year struggle for independence, freedom and national reunification; ended the domination of more than a century of old and new colonialism; brought the country into a new era, the era of national independence and socialism. This victory is the victory of the mettle, spirit and intelligence of Vietnam, with the truth "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one", is a milestone affirming that our entire Party, people and army have realized the wishes and instructions of Uncle Ho, completing the cause of completely liberating the South and reunifying the country. Promoting the valuable lessons of the victory of the resistance war against the US, under the leadership of the Party and the State, the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army have joined hands and joined hands to rebuild, restore and develop the country according to Uncle Ho's will. In 2025, strive for economic growth of 8% or more and reach double digits in the period of 2026 - 2030, determined to successfully implement strategic goals by 2030, Vietnam becomes a developing country with modern industry and high average income. At the ceremony, Major General Tran Ngoc Tho - former Chief of Staff of Military Region 7, representing the forces participating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, gave an emotional speech in memory of the comrades and teammates who sacrificed and expressed pride in the country's achievements in innovation. At the same time, he believed that the young generation would inherit and promote the traditions of their ancestors, the nation, and the traditions of the Vietnam People's Army, doing their best to build the country to become increasingly rich, prosperous, and happy, bringing the country firmly into a new era, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as President Ho Chi Minh wished.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam awarded the title "Hero of Labor" to the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City in recognition of their outstanding achievements, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
