Ham Thuan Nam commune was merged from Ham Minh commune and Thuan Nam town. Considered a mountainous commune, with National Highway 1A running through it for 11km, DT 712 route for 5.8km, Ham Minh - Thuan Quy road for 9km, along with a system of inner-city roads, commune roads, inter-commune roads, rural roads, and inter-field roads connecting together. With a total natural area of 111.82 km2 ; a total population of 32,771 people. The entire Party Committee has 39 Party cells and 946 Party members.
Up to this point, the preparation work for the Commune Party Congress has been focused on leadership, direction and basically completed all stages. The Commune Party Committee has established subcommittees including: Personnel subcommittee, Document subcommittee and Congress service subcommittee; building a plan to organize the Commune Party Congress for the term 2025 - 2030.
In particular, conferences to collect comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the Provincial Party Congress and the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term were held extensively, with the participation of former district leaders of all periods, grassroots cadres and a large number of people. The content focused on major groups of issues such as socio-economic development, strengthening the political system, maintaining national defense and security, etc.
In recent days, along the main roads of the commune center, the headquarters of agencies and schools, the work of hanging banners, slogans and flags has been quite spacious and brilliant, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere to welcome the congress. In addition, the commune campus has been tidied up and cleaned. Party cells and villages have simultaneously launched a general environmental cleaning campaign, beautifying village roads, planting flowers, hanging national flags and banners to welcome the congress.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hoang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ham Thuan Nam commune, said that the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the commune is a particularly important political event, orienting the goals, tasks, and solutions for comprehensive and sustainable development of the commune in the new period.
With 19 main targets, Ham Thuan Nam commune identifies Party building as the key and socio -economic development as the central task. In addition, the commune will focus on education, improving the qualifications, capacity, and moral qualities of Party members to better serve the people in the new period. In particular, the commune also pays attention to digital transformation solutions, applying IT to work, especially the commune's public administrative service center, to avoid causing trouble for the people.
With the motto: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", along with the spirit of readiness, initiative and high consensus, Ham Thuan Nam commune is ready for the big festival, highly determined for a successful Congress, marking a new development path, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress in the period of comprehensive development and modernization.
