On the morning of February 15th, the People's Committee of the city organized the launching ceremony of the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" for the Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024 at the Dong Loi resettlement area, Ky Ba ward.

Provincial and city leaders participated in tree planting immediately after the launching ceremony.

Attending the launching ceremony were: Comrade Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Van Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council; leaders of several provincial departments and agencies; and city leaders.

Following President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "Spring is the time for planting trees, making the country ever more vibrant," over the years, officials and people of the city have planted, cared for, and protected millions of trees. In particular, in 2023, the city completed and put into use two parks, Ky Ba Park and Ty Ruou Lake, creating green lungs for the city, providing a green, clean, beautiful, and modern environment.

Leaders from various departments and agencies participated in planting trees.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the City People's Committee emphasized the practical purpose and significance of tree planting as taught by President Ho Chi Minh; and at the same time requested Party committees, governments, the Fatherland Front , mass organizations, agencies, and units in the area to strengthen propaganda so that people understand the purpose and significance of the tree planting festival and the planting of green trees; to launch tree planting festivals suitable to the conditions of the locality, agency, and unit; and to increase resources to promote the planting of valuable green trees that are suitable for the urban landscape and the environment.

In 2024 and the following years, the city will continue to plant new trees and renovate existing greenery in planned residential areas, new urban areas, and ecological parks to create more green spaces for the people's lives.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial and city leaders and the people participated in planting trees along Road No. 06, Dong Loi resettlement area, Ky Ba ward.
