On the morning of February 4th, Ha Long City organized the launching ceremony for the "Planting Trees in Remembrance of Uncle Ho - Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025" campaign. Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, attended the ceremony. Also present was Mr. Vu Quyet Tien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee.
The launching ceremony for the Spring Tree Planting Festival 2025 was organized by Ha Long City at the meteorological hill area in Bai Chay ward - one of the many areas damaged and with trees broken after Typhoon No. 3 ( Yagi ). At the ceremony, over 2,000 crape myrtle, flamboyant, bauhinia, and other flowering trees, along with pine, were planted on an area of more than 1.6 hectares, aiming to restore the forest area damaged by the typhoon and to beautify the area.
Coinciding with the tree planting festival launched at the meteorological hill (Bai Chay ward), all 31 communes and wards of Ha Long City also simultaneously organized the "Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho - Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025" tree planting festival today, creating a widespread tree planting movement throughout the city.
The types of trees planted in this phase by Ha Long City include teak, mahogany, and other urban green trees, as well as multi-purpose shade trees, contributing to the formation of large timber forests and helping to "green" urban forests and roads, the grounds of offices, units, schools, cultural centers, industrial zones, and concentrated residential areas. Ha Long City aims to plant over 21,500 hectares of forest by 2025.
