A series of events at Yen Tu took place from December 18 to 22, focusing on the 717th anniversary of the Nirvana of King Tran Nhan Tong and the ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex as a World Cultural Heritage (in coordination with Bac Ninh province and Hai Phong city).
Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, said: "On the occasion of this event, Quang Ninh province organizes a week including a series of interconnected events, from culture, cuisine, learning about Truc Lam Buddhism, concert programs for people and tourists to join in connecting and experiencing activities in Quang Ninh".
The ceremony to announce the outstanding global value of the World Cultural Heritage Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac on the night of August 17th brought many unique art performances.
Specifically, in the series of activities of the Grand Ceremony commemorating the 717th anniversary of the Nirvana of King Tran Nhan Tong, there will be the 7th "Yen Tu - The Fountain of Wisdom" retreat; Commemoration night of flower lanterns; Buddha worship - Ancestor worship - circumambulation of Hue Quang tower. The Grand Ceremony will take place on December 20. The ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex as a World Cultural Heritage will be held at 8:00 p.m. on December 20 at Minh Tam Square, Yen Tu relic and landscape complex, Yen Tu ward.
Along with that, Yen Tu Festival "Heritage Journey, World Quintessence" takes place with many activities: Exhibition of achievements of the thousand-year heritage "Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac"; Trade Fair - OCOP and Food Festival; Exchange of art performances, folk games; Heritage Film Week; Quang Ninh Open Cycling Race 2025 "To the Heritage Land"... The series of events contributes to honoring historical - cultural values and spreading the image of the World Cultural Heritage Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac to a large number of people and tourists.
Quang Ninh province also organized a Countdown event to celebrate the New Year 2026 at 30/10 Square (Ha Long ward) on December 31, with an expected scale of up to nearly 50,000 people. This is the last highlight event in 2025 of the locality, marking a series of large-scale cultural and tourism events successfully organized throughout the year, including 2 concert nights attracting 30 audiences/night and leaving many outstanding impressions.
