
The combination of beautiful natural landscapes and diverse activities has created a unique experience for visitors at night. Thanks to that, tourism - accommodation - food services in Quang Ninh are growing strongly. In the first 11 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to increase by 19.6% over the same period in 2024. In the Ha Long area, night-time economic activities contribute about 70% of tourism revenue and each tourist can increase spending by about 300-400 USD thanks to outstanding night-time services.
In the province, many night products have been put into operation, such as: "Night Cruise Street", walking street, night market, street art performances... Quang Ninh is also actively implementing 5 models oriented by the Central Government, many outstanding programs on large-scale cultural and artistic performances, such as: "Halo! Halo Fest!" Grand Music Festival, Skyware Ha Long 2025, VuiFest Sun Carnival, Superfest 2025 - Bright Summer, Live Show "Finding the Pearl", Cruise on Ha Long Bay or special fireworks display at Sun Carnival Square... Especially, the 2 concerts taking place in October and November have created great excitement for tourists when coming to Quang Ninh.

The above figures show that the tourism industry in the whole province is growing quite strongly and has clear investment, strongly promoting night tourism products. However, the scale of operation is still small and uneven, although there are "bright spots", many experts commented that the night economy in Quang Ninh is still new, only stopping at night markets and walking streets, often closing before 11pm and lacking large-scale, unique, international night entertainment complexes to "keep" tourists longer.
In addition, policies do not have specific mechanisms for night tourism from central to local levels, the legal mechanism and management framework for the night economy and night services are not yet complete. Policies to support investment in night-time auxiliary infrastructure (transportation, sanitation services, security, lighting, noise management) still have many weaknesses... In addition, regional and product linkages are still weak, and the night-time product system is not yet synchronized. The organization and operation of infrastructure and night-time services in some places have not met the requirements of professionalism, there has not been a strong diversification of service products and upgrading of auxiliary infrastructure serving night-time activities: Lighting, night-time traffic, security, environmental sanitation, noise management...
Giving his opinion on the development of the night economy in Quang Ninh, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Institute of Tourism Economics, said: In the project and development of Quang Ninh to become a regional and international connection center, it is necessary to emphasize the need to soon have large-scale night performances, live performances, because Ha Long Bay is so beautiful. Therefore, it is necessary to plan the infrastructure system, products, and services to connect together into a synchronized night product.

To build a chain of night products with a unique identity of Quang Ninh, there needs to be a "conductor" to connect the value chain, creating a strong brand for the locality with the participation of businesses, human resource training facilities, and the local community. Mr. Doan Anh Vu, Marketing Director of BIM Group - the unit that is developing a series of products such as walking streets, water music shows, and music festivals, commented: Quang Ninh really needs to have a highlight product so that domestic and international tourists when mentioning Quang Ninh will come to that activity. I propose that we need to promote the development of the night economy in the low season, after the peak summer season, because this is the season of international tourists.
In the coming time, Quang Ninh province will continue to implement synchronous planning, zoning, and invest more heavily in infrastructure and nighttime operations and management: Night traffic, artistic lighting, night transportation, security and order, hygiene, and night experience areas. At the same time, improve night tourism products, focus on developing some "key" night products with their own brands such as night cruise tours, special night art performances, coastal night markets, etc. At the same time, promote night products more strongly internationally - creating the brand "Quang Ninh - a sleepless destination" to compete with other destinations.
