On December 8, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced that from December 11-14, 2025, the Hanoi Craft Village and Street Cuisine and Tourism Festival will be held at the Tay Ho Cultural and Creative Space (Trinh Cong Son walking street).
This is a large-scale tourism promotion activity to honor the value of traditional craft villages, promote cuisine and introduce unique destinations of the capital.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism, the event with the theme "Hundreds of elite professions, thousands of flavors spread," gathered from 80-100 booths on an area of about 5,000 square meters.
The main spaces include the space for tourism of craft villages and craft streets - "Craft villages of the Past and Present"; the space for the quintessence of Hanoi cuisine - "The ancient fragrance remains forever" and the space for promoting tourist destinations - "Strolling through Hanoi."
In the craft village area, Hanoi selected a number of typical craft villages such as Bat Trang pottery; Van Phuc silk; Ha Thai lacquer; Quat Dong embroidery; Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan weaving; Ngu Xa bronze casting..., highlighting the two craft villages recognized as members of the World Network of Creative Craft Cities - Bat Trang pottery village and Van Phuc silk village.
The area displaying the village's unique products combines tourism in two groups of traditional values and modern design, showing the connection from the past to the present, including: porcelain, wood and gilded lacquer, bronze casting, silk, lacquer, mosaic...
The craft street tourism space has been chosen to introduce the beauty of old Hanoi, focusing on the story of Hang Ma craft street every time Tet comes and Spring comes. Here, visitors can admire artifacts, documentary photos, models recreating traditional stalls, and typical products of the craft street such as Lunar New Year decorations, Mid-Autumn Festival toys, to he figurines, etc. The space also combines demonstrations of crafting techniques, creating products on the spot and introducing craft village tours, helping visitors understand more deeply about the cultural and historical values of Hanoi's craft street.
In addition, the Hanoi Culinary Quintessence Space gathers many famous delicacies such as beef noodle soup, bun cha, egg coffee, Ho Tay shrimp cakes, and specialties of Lang Vong green rice village, Phu Thuong sticky rice, Thanh Tri rice rolls, etc. The organizers also arrange a space to recreate Hanoi's ancient houses, lotus tea making demonstrations and cooking activities with artisans and chefs to bring a truly authentic and emotional culinary and cultural experience.
The destination promotion area displays miniature models of many prominent relics and symbols of the capital such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Long Bien Bridge, Turtle Tower - Hoan Kiem Lake; and also displays art photos about Hanoi's culture, architecture and craft villages.
The festival is hosted by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with departments, branches and local people's committees. The Tourism Information and Promotion Center directly organizes, is in charge of designing the space, implementing communications and connecting participating businesses and artisans.
The event aims to create new and attractive tourism products, strengthen the connection between Hanoi and other localities, and contribute to promoting the image of the Capital - "Safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination" to domestic and international tourists./.
