In recent times, the Women's Union of Cam Hiep commune has maintained and organized many activities to promote gender equality and for the advancement of women, especially ethnic minority women. In the two villages of Suoi Coc and Val Ly - where many Raglai people live, the union has promoted propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on gender equality and organized communication campaigns and competitions on gender equality, eliminating gender stereotypes, preventing and combating domestic violence to raise women's awareness of gender equality; policy dialogue related to women, children... Activities are organized in many forms, close, practical, attracting the participation of a large number of members, women and local people.

Ms. Mang Thi Huong - Head of the Women's Union of Suoi Coc village shared: "The village has 95% of the population being Raglai people. To help Raglai women have a correct awareness of the role and position of women in the family and society, the union regularly integrates propaganda content on gender equality through conferences, village meetings, sometimes right at households' homes. Thanks to the propaganda, women have gained more knowledge and understanding of gender equality; know how to share, understand, respect and discuss together to decide on big and small matters in the house, especially knowing how to develop the economy independently".
Along with communication work, the Commune Women's Union has proactively advised the local Party Committee and authorities to effectively implement Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children". The Union has actively coordinated to implement the project's core contents and targets, preferential credit policies combined with vocational skills training, helping women have the opportunity to access capital and necessary knowledge to master farming and livestock models. Thereby, not only helping ethnic minority women to be financially independent, increase family income but also contribute to the overall development of the community. Ms. Mang Thi Thom - a member of the Commune Women's Union said: "Thanks to participating in training courses, propaganda, and mobilizing to change "thinking and ways of doing", I boldly borrowed capital to invest in planting 5 sao of mango trees and taking advantage of raising chickens under the mango canopy to increase economic efficiency. Up to now, my family has had a stable income".

Promoting communication on gender equality
Ms. Tran Thi Nhai - President of the Women's Union of Cam Hiep commune commented: "The effectiveness of implementing gender communication campaigns and activities of Project 8 has contributed to creating fundamental changes in eliminating barriers, prejudices and gender stereotypes in the ethnic minority community. From there, helping the locality effectively implement gender equality goals, improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minority women and children in the area. In the coming time, we will continue to strengthen and persistently promote communication and dissemination of knowledge on gender equality in many creative forms, suitable to the language and customs of ethnic minorities, especially providing vivid visual handbooks and documents for people to easily access and take note of."
With the role of gathering, accompanying, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and girls, the Cam Hiep Commune Women's Union calls on every family, every Cam Hiep resident and the community to join hands to act for an equal - safe - civilized society, especially for women and girls.
