According to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions , to date, 23/34 provinces and cities have completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, with about 283,000 newly built and repaired houses. These houses have brought warmth to poor and near-poor households in extremely disadvantaged districts, within the framework of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, as well as to policy families and relatives of martyrs.
The program has mobilized a total of more than 17,800 billion VND, of which the State budget contributed 66%, the remaining 34% came from socialized sources and community contributions.
According to the proposal of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, the standing agency of the Central Steering Committee, the closing ceremony of the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" is expected to be held on August 23, 2025 in Hanoi .
In particular, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung said that this program is expected to be honored as one of 80 key national projects and works on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
This is not only an important milestone in the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction but also a vivid demonstration of the strength of solidarity and cooperation of the whole society. At the same time, the program contributes to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State, opening up opportunities for poor households to escape poverty sustainably and build a prosperous life.
