Lexus IS 2021 has been "discontinued", sold for more than 1.7 billion in Ho Chi Minh City

Launched in the Vietnamese market in 2021, the luxury Lexus IS quickly attracted attention thanks to its youthful, sportier design compared to other models of the same brand. However, this luxury sedan has had many difficulties in conquering customers due to its high price and unattractive interior.

As Vietnamese consumers increasingly favor high-chassis vehicles, the Lexus IS sedan is gradually losing ground. By mid-2024, this model will be officially "discontinued" from the genuine Lexus product catalog in Vietnam.

Therefore, Lexus IS has become a rare name appearing on the used car market. However, every time it appears, this model still surprises users with its value retention. For example, the Lexus IS 300 Luxury version of 2021 is being sold by a used luxury car dealer in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the seller, this used Lexus IS 2021 has rolled about 50,000 km and is currently priced at about 1.7xx billion VND. At the time of sale, the listed price of the Lexus IS 300 Luxury 2021 was 2.49 billion VND. After calculating the rolling cost, the total amount that the owner has to pay is about 2.8 billion VND.

In terms of design, the Lexus IS 2021 in Vietnam has a youthful, dynamic appearance, different from the luxurious, elegant style of Lexus in the higher segment. However, this also makes it difficult for IS to conquer the brand's traditional customer base.

The interior of the IS 300 Luxury is not considered to be really outstanding compared to its "seniors". Details such as the regular leather-wrapped steering wheel, the analog clock cluster combined with a small screen, or the 8-inch entertainment screen make this car model "less attractive" in the eyes of users who demand high modernity.

In return, the car is still equipped with notable amenities such as an electrically adjustable driver's seat with heating and cooling, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a sunroof. In terms of safety, the Lexus IS 300 Luxury 2021 is not equipped with a high-end active safety system, and even lacks front sensors.

However, the 2021 Lexus IS 300 still has features such as active cornering assist, traction control, blind spot warning, cross traffic alert when reversing, and an 8-airbag system.

The Lexus IS 300 Luxury's biggest strength comes from its performance. The car uses a 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, providing 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. In addition, this model also has an adaptive suspension system.

With Lexus IS officially discontinued in Vietnam, customers interested in this sedan model need to carefully consider the availability and cost of spare parts during use.

However, after four years of use, the depreciation of the Lexus IS 2021 is only about 1 billion VND, a number considered quite good for a luxury car, especially when it has stopped being sold officially.
