The Vietnamese women's team has a place in the 2025 World Championship thanks to its fourth-place finish at the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship after Thailand, Japan and China.
Because Thailand is the host, the Vietnamese women's team was promoted to receive a place in the world tournament.
This is the first time in history that Vietnamese volleyball has had a team participate in the World Championship.
The 2025 World Championship has 32 participating teams, divided into 8 groups, competing in a first round of rankings, selecting the top 2 teams to enter the round of 16.
The Vietnamese women's team (ranked 22nd in the world) is in Group G with opponents Poland (ranked 3rd in the world), Germany (ranked 11th in the world) and Kenya (ranked 23rd in the world).
According to the schedule, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will have their first match against Poland on August 23, Germany on August 25 and Kenya on August 27.
The first time participating in the world's most prestigious playground, competing with the world's top opponents, especially Poland and Germany, will be an opportunity for Thanh Thuy and her teammates to learn and gain more experience.
The World Championship is also the final playground in the preparation journey for the 33rd SEA Games of the Vietnamese women's team.
