Match schedule of Vietnam U16 women's team at the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 tournament

VHO - Coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's U16 Football Championship, taking place from August 20 to 30 in Indonesia.

Returning after a 5-year absence, the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's U16 Football Tournament still maintains 9 participating teams (the tournament was held in 2017, 2018, 2019).

The players have prepared carefully for the regional playground.

Another difference from the previous 3 seasons is that the 9 teams are divided into 3 groups instead of 2 groups.

The teams compete in a round robin to calculate points, rank, and select the top 3 teams and the second-place team with the best record to enter the semi-finals.

At the tournament, Vietnam's U16 women's team is in Group B with Myanmar's U16 women's team and Cambodia's U16 women's team.

According to the schedule, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team will have two matches in the group stage against opponents Cambodia and Myanmar, on August 21 and August 25 respectively.

To prepare for the regional tournament, the Vietnam U16 women's team had 1 month of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) with 5 friendly matches with the "blue team" of the U19 women's teams of Ha Nam , Thai Nguyen and Vinh Phuc.

Regarding the goals of the Vietnam U16 women's team at the upcoming Southeast Asian tournament, coach Okiyama Masahiko emphasized: "We have 3 goals at the 2025 Southeast Asian U16 women's tournament: to give our all in every match with the goal of winning, improving the technique, fitness, and team tactics of each player to prepare for the Asian U17 women's qualifying round next October.

The ultimate goal is to help players understand the pride and responsibility of being a national team player through the experience of participating in international tournaments."

Today, August 19, the Vietnam U16 women's team will leave for Indonesia. The team has 2 days to prepare before playing the opening match against the Cambodia U16 women's team.
