Is the 'Digital Trust' Alliance a trap that binds content creators?

At the conference "KOL with the era of national rise", KOLs (influencers) shared the significance of the launch of the "Digital Trust Alliance" and the "Influencer Trust" program.

The birth of the “Digital Trust” Alliance within the framework of the Conference “KOL with the era of national growth” on August 18 has great significance, marking the beginning of a strategic cooperation network between KOLs (influencers in society), management agencies, businesses, digital platforms and the press, towards standards of conduct and a safe and healthy network environment.

The Alliance will gather reputable KOLs, help the public identify positive information, protect digital trust and contribute to strengthening national soft power, but will the Alliance "bind" the creative scope of KOLs?

Positively oriented creativity

A few years ago, MC Khanh Vy started her content creation career but she didn’t know what to call her work. When asked, she would just say, “I do fun things on social media.” Khanh Vy used to wonder where her work would go and how to continue.

Luckily, the female MC met teachers, learned from them, and gradually became a content creator for her personal channels. Khanh Vy aims for stories with positive messages and information that can inspire.

“I realized that if I create content and accept advertising, I will earn money, but this source of income is not sustainable because my followers will soon switch to following other KOLs. Therefore, I think I have to create positive values that are useful to others,” Khanh Vy shared.

So the Nghe An girl started making videos instructing how to learn foreign languages, talking to experts and inspirational people in society to spread good things to everyone.

Therefore, for Khanh Vy, the birth of the "Digital Trust" Alliance will create a good orientation for content creators, a bridge to connect KOLs with digital platforms.

Sharing the same view, Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh wants to spread the spirit of enthusiastic and responsible living to young people. In particular, she believes that influential young people today need to devote themselves more to social and charitable work to create valuable influences on the community, instead of chasing after virtual glory.

Sharing with reporters from VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper, Ha Truc Linh said that if KOLs hastily share incorrect information, it will cause negative impacts on society. Therefore, the establishment of the Alliance helps KOLs like Truc Linh manage risks and avoid unnecessary mistakes.

“I always want to create positive values, spreading a civilized and good image in the community. Content creation will become more appropriate and standard if we stay within the framework and have the right orientation,” Ha Truc Linh shared.

Strengthening trust in society

Besides guiding content creation, KOLs believe that the “Digital Trust” Alliance helps them strengthen social trust with the real values that they themselves can bring.

Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc believes that virtual life has its own twists and turns, when the number of likes and shares can be manipulated and led. She affirms that KOLs have influence in the community, but that power needs to be focused on building “their own value system.” Each person, when gaining influence, needs to build reputation and sustainable values instead of chasing after “virtual” numbers.

“KOLs are not simply people who promote products or share experiences, but sometimes they also have the ability to guide public opinion, shape lifestyles, and even change community behavior. Everything has two sides, good and bad. If done right, they can create positive waves and sustainable values. If done wrong, that influence can cause consequences that even they do not expect,” Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc shared.

She believes that without management and direction, social media will turn into a “gray zone” - where true and false information are mixed, emotions are manipulated, and people’s honor and reputation can be damaged in an instant. A hasty judgment, an unverified piece of information can cause long-term, even irreversible consequences.

She believes that setting criteria to evaluate KOLs and KOCs, creating a legal framework for their operations, and establishing the “Digital Trust” Alliance is a very necessary and meaningful step. With clear criteria and a legal framework, KOLs and KOCs will have a direction to operate in a more transparent, responsible, and sustainable manner.

The birth of the Digital Trust Alliance will be like us building a "common house" - a place that gathers influencers with the same goal: Spreading good values, connecting the community, and creating positive impacts not only online but also in real life.

Sharing on the sidelines of the conference, singer Den Vau highly appreciated the significance of establishing the "Digital Trust" Alliance because with increasingly clear regulations and instructions from the management agency, content creators will become more and more complete and responsible.

During his work, he became increasingly aware of the role and influence of a celebrity in society. That means he has to be more responsible in his behavior, spread positive values and improve himself.

“Every click and every shared content, I consider carefully and thoroughly to see if it will leave any consequences, especially for young people - those who use technology a lot and from a very early age,” Den Vau shared.

Talking to a reporter from VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper about this issue, actress Bao Thanh said that the "Digital Trust" Alliance is not a rope that binds or restrains KOLs, but on the contrary, it is a "common home" for influential people, protecting them from legal risks that they accidentally encounter.

Here and there, there are famous people who have been caught up in the law due to advertising violations. Bao Thanh chooses reputable, quality brands and businesses that have been certified by state management agencies. That is how she avoids risks for herself and at the same time brings useful values to the community./.
