On August 1, the first stage of the SEA V-League 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Volleyball Tournament kicked off in Nakhon Ratchasima city (Thailand).

Stage 1 takes place from August 1 to 3, bringing together 4 women's teams: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

Stage 2 was held from August 8 to 10 in Ninh Binh (Vietnam). The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is the current runner-up of the tournament.

Before participating in the first stage of SEA V-League 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team excellently won the championship of the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship AVC Nations Cup 2025 and the runner-up of the International Women's Volleyball Championship VTV Cup 2025. Traveling to Thailand on this occasion, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet summoned the strongest squad with Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Bich Tuyen, Khanh Dang, Bich Thuy, Lam Oanh...

The opponent of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the opening match of the first round of the SEA V-League 2025 is Indonesia - a team considered difficult to play against in the region. In this year's tournament, Indonesia has the return of its number 1 star, opposite Megawati. Previously, Megawati played very successfully for the Red Sparks club in the Korean National Volleyball Championship, then tried her hand in the second division of Turkey.

With the goal of changing the medal color at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team considers the 2025 SEA V-League an important tournament to test the squad and personnel. The biggest opponent of coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team is Thailand - the current champion of the tournament and has been ranked number 1 in Southeast Asia for many years.
