Lionel Messi will wear number 10 shirt at Inter Miami?

Inter Miami appear to have had Lionel Messi's new shirt number leaked after the American club posted a birthday message to the Argentine superstar on social media.

Lionel Messi officially turned 36 on June 25. Inter Miami also sent birthday wishes to their expensive new recruit on the team's Twitter .

However, Inter Miami's post appears to have revealed the new shirt number Messi will wear when he joins the Major League Soccer (MLS) team.

Inter Miami posted an image of a black brick wall with the words "Feliz Cumplio" written in pink graffiti-style text, although the first "e" is missing. The "m" in the font is used on the club's badge.

But the last two "io"s are replaced with the number "10" and changed to white to attract attention.

This implies that Messi will wear his famous number 10 shirt when he joins Inter Miami for the remainder of the 2023 MLS season.

Messi wore the iconic number 10 shirt for many years at Barcelona and continues to wear the number as Argentina captain.

However, Messi was forced to wear the number 30 shirt when he joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) when Neymar held this number at the capital team in Paris.

The number 10 shirt at Inter Miami previously belonged to Messi's former Argentina teammate Gonzalo Higuain, but the striker has now retired.

Inter Miami president David Beckham also took to social media to wish Messi a happy birthday, writing: "Here we go, my friend. It's going to be a special year ahead."

Messi is expected to make his Inter Miami debut in a Leagues Cup clash with Cruz Azul on July 21.
