Right from the first days when new soldiers set foot in the 87th Brigade barracks, the image of the platoon and company cadres “4 together” (eating, living, working, and sharing together) has become familiar. Senior Lieutenant Tran Huu Thuy, Political Commissar of Company 12, Battalion 908, Brigade 87 shared: “New soldiers are often bewildered and unfamiliar, without real companionship from the cadres, it is difficult to adapt quickly. “4 together” is not a slogan, but a specific daily action and that is how our cadres pass on their skills and “pass on the fire” to the troops.”

Not stopping at being close, accompanying, and implementing "3 before": The unit's staff "got up early" to prepare for a working day; "did it first" to guide soldiers in each command movement, folding blankets, curtains, disassembling and assembling guns; "thought ahead" in every activity.

At the same time, implementing the "2 after" method means that when the meal comes, the soldiers sit at the table and then the cadres eat. At night, the cadres go to check one last time before they can go to bed with peace of mind. The actions of the cadres have become a vivid example for the soldiers to follow.

Officers at all levels are interested in monitoring the quality of training of new soldiers at Brigade 87.

To ensure that training is carried out in an orderly manner, Brigade 87 effectively applies the “4 clear” process: clear people, clear work, clear process and clear responsibility. Each task and each training lesson is assigned specifically to each individual by the unit. Lieutenant Han Ngoc Nam, Platoon Leader of Platoon 3, confided: “When everything is clear, it helps me and my comrades in the platoon understand what we need to do, how to do it and to what extent to complete the task well. Thanks to that, in training, the unit not only achieves quality but also saves time and avoids overlap.”

At the end of the 2025 new soldier training test, 100% of the 87th Brigade met the requirements, of which more than 80% were good or excellent. As a specialized unit in chemical defense, the training work at the Brigade has its own unique characteristics. New soldiers not only learn basic content but also have access to and are trained systematically with modern chemical defense equipment and weapons, are trained in urgent and precise working style and an unflinching spirit in the face of danger.

Break time on the field.

It is worth noting that each soldier has clearly matured in awareness, style and sense of responsibility during this year's training season. Many soldiers have known how to put the collective interest first, have been proactive in their activities, and have trained their will and discipline. Through politicaleducation activities, learning traditions, and participating in movement activities, soldiers have gradually become more deeply aware of their duty to protect the Fatherland and their responsibilities to their families and themselves. After 3 months of serious and scientific training, the new soldiers have now become tough soldiers, with endurance under the hot sun of the training ground, and know how to skillfully carry out the contents of regulations, infantry combat techniques, shooting, grenade throwing, explosive wrapping, etc.

Private Pham Nhat Khanh, a new soldier from Xuan Loc, Dong Nai shared: “I feel like I have matured a lot and know how to live responsibly. Having studied subjects on political education, military , logistics, and engineering, I have gained a lot of military knowledge and skills, which will help me meet the requirements and tasks in the future.”

Meanwhile, twin brothers Nguyen Le Duy Toan and Nguyen Le Duy Thang, both in Company 13, Battalion 908, said that when they studied and learned about the traditions and missions of the Chemical Corps, they both felt more love and pride for the unit. Having completed the “3-explosion” test of the new soldier training course with good results, both were ready to take on more difficult and challenging missions.

Unit officers pay close attention to soldiers' meals.

In addition, many soldiers have successfully promoted their talents and strengths in the unit environment. Some comrades with abilities in areas such as information technology, performing arts, hosting, music processing, sports, mechanical engineering, etc. were promptly discovered, trained and assigned appropriate tasks by the Brigade. This force has become a core factor in emulation activities, propaganda, event organization and supporting team training.

The model of "4 together, 3 before, 2 after" and the process of "4 clear" have gone beyond the framework of an initiative, becoming the style, identity and constant breath in every activity of Brigade 87. In 2025, in the context of increasingly high mission requirements, these models continue to prove their effectiveness, contributing to building a comprehensively strong unit, worthy of the tradition of "Heroic Chemical Troops".

Colonel Nguyen Gia Thu, Brigade Commander of Brigade 87, said: “The results of training new soldiers this year are not only reflected in the high rate of good and excellent, but also in the comprehensive maturity from physical strength, technique, tactics to awareness, behavior and sense of organization and discipline of each soldier. The models and processes applied by the Brigade have met the training requirements effectively and are sustainable in building new people in the Army environment.”
