The Embassy of Vietnam in Italy solemnly held the 80th Anniversary of National Day September 2 at Palazzo Brancaccio - one of the most beautiful and luxurious historical palaces in Rome on the evening of September 18. Singer Gemma Nguyen (real name Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh) was invited by the Embassy of Vietnam in Italy to perform; at the same time, Gemma Nguyen was also honored to take on the role of director of the welcoming art program.

Returning to Italy - the country that made Gemma Nguyen's dream of becoming an opera artist come true, when the female singer spent 5 years studying the world-famous classical arts major and graduated with a master's degree in opera performance at the Alfredo Casella Conservatory, Italy. Returning to Vietnam, for over a year, Gemma Nguyen has been a name that regularly appears on the stage of major art programs. Studying classical opera, but Gemma Nguyen has shaped her own path, which is to combine classical music techniques with Vietnamese folk music to promote the Vietnamese language to international friends.
Along with her singing talent, Gemma Nguyen also tried her hand at songwriting. Especially on occasions when the country celebrated major anniversaries, such as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, having the honor of participating in the parade and commemorative march inspired Gemma Nguyen to compose the song “Proud of Vietnam”.
In the space of Palazzo Brancaccio Palace, Rome, Italy, the female singer performed the song "Proud of Vietnam" in Vietnamese and Italian to the enthusiastic applause and emotion of many Vietnamese and international delegates.

“I spent 2 months composing, using everything I learned in Italy to put into the song an epic and operatic quality, giving the song a heroic sound, expressing national pride, pride in being Vietnamese. Through the song, I hope to be a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and international friends,” Gemma Nguyen expressed.
The female singer added that the National Day Celebration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Italy took place in a solemn, warm and friendly atmosphere between Vietnam and Italy. The delegates were delighted to wear scarves with the red flag with a yellow star, resplendent with Vietnamese colors, and enjoy many traditional Vietnamese dishes. The rich and delicate flavors of Vietnamese cuisine have left a deep impression on international friends, contributing to spreading Vietnamese culture to many local friends.
After the performance at the Anniversary Ceremony, Gemma Nguyen and the Vietnamese artists had a tour of scenic spots in Italy and several European countries. Wherever she went, the female singer sang famous Vietnamese songs to record and film clips of songs in Vietnamese, such as “Nguoi con gai song La” at the Berlin Cathedral, Germany; “Xa khoi” at ETH Zurich University, Switzerland…

“Every time I sing, I always want to convey my love and national pride. I may not be the best, but I always believe that when a Vietnamese stands in any country in the world and sings with all his heart, it is no longer music, it is a declaration of a beautiful and resilient country.
