Writer Tran Nha Thuy: "There is an ecosystem called 'Living Beautifully'."
In my opinion, the two programs, "Walking Through Life with Your Child" and the "Living Beautifully" contest organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper , are beautiful milestones, like a treasure trove of fairy tales told in everyday life.
Having run for five consecutive seasons, "Living Beautifully" is not only a success for Thanh Nien Newspaper but also a success for both readers and writers. From the very beginning, when invited to participate as a member of the judging panel, I stated: "From this competition, Thanh Nien Newspaper has opened up an ecosystem called 'Living Beautifully '." Indeed, "Living Beautifully " is not simply a writing competition about "good people and good deeds," but a competition that inspires humanistic values and focuses on the beauty in the human soul. It's like a new kind of "moral textbook," one that is not dry or dogmatic.

Let me tell you a parable. On a freezing cold street, a beggar wore a sign around his neck that read: "I am blind." But passersby seemed unmoved. Seeing this, someone approached and corrected the sign. Immediately, many people stopped, put money into the beggar's bowl, and shared affectionate, compassionate glances. How was the sign corrected? It read: "The Lunar New Year is coming soon. It's a pity I won't get to see it." If we make this connection, we'll see that the " Living Beautifully " writing contest is essentially "transforming" everyday stories into proverbs, or taking ordinary everyday stories and turning them into literary texts with lasting vitality.
I can't remember all the stories I've read. But there are two people from Quang Ngai that I can never forget. One is Quang Dinh Hau, a disabled young man who sells lottery tickets but does volunteer work, helping people throughout the days when the Covid-19 pandemic was wreaking havoc (his entry won first prize in the Feature, Reportage, and Notes category, season 2). I still remember that when he came to the Thanh Nien Newspaper office to receive his prize, Hau donated a portion of his winnings to continue helping the poor.
As for Mai Le Duy Quang, who is considered a "hero in everyday life" in the multi-vehicle traffic accident on Phu My Bridge (August 2024), he is also an ordinary person from Quang Ngai. He said, "I'm not a hero at all, I just wanted to save people in their most dangerous situation."

There are many more inspiring individuals whose beauty we haven't yet discovered. We hope that Thanh Nien Newspaper will continue to organize this contest so that beauty can continue to be found, revived, and spread.
Author Dang Hoang An: "From the characters in 'Living Beautifully,' I continue to spread kindness."
My journey with "Living Beautifully" began with a very simple invitation. In 2022, Ms. Duong Chau Giang, an author from Hung Yen , asked me to write about her (for the " Song of Life " competition) and send it to the editorial office. Unexpectedly, my little story was highly appreciated by the judges and won second prize in that year's "Living Beautifully" competition .
Dang Hoang An is the author who has won the most awards in the competition's history.

Before the awards ceremony, author Duong Chau Giang repeatedly expressed his desire to invite me to Thanh Nien Newspaper to celebrate together. Thanks to that, I had the opportunity to meet ordinary people with truly extraordinary actions at the event: Hau – a disabled young man who sells lottery tickets but still tirelessly helps the underprivileged; Mr. Tu Kiem – an elderly farmer quietly building dozens of charity houses for the poor… Meeting them, I understood that amidst the hustle and bustle of life, there are still countless "beautiful flowers" waiting to be discovered and spread.
As an amateur writer, I decided to try my hand at writing, to tell the stories of kindness I see every day around me, so that these "beautiful flowers in everyday life" can spread.

When my entry, " Round Legs Reaching Their Last Beat," was published in Thanh Nien Newspaper on September 19, 2023, a lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education sent me a small sum of money. Thanks to this lecturer's support and the prize money, I was able to buy myself a new wheelchair, a life-changing experience for my two legs.

Unlike my peers, I am disabled, so I understand how important means of social integration are. My own experience has made me more compassionate towards those in similar situations. Having received so much love in life, I want to give back in return. On the day I won first prize in the " Living Beautifully " Season 4 "Sharing Love" competition , I used the prize money to buy a new wheelchair for a local woman who was seriously ill. I remember that evening vividly; it was twilight, I was driving my electric tricycle, and my father was carrying the wheelchair behind me. We delivered it to her that night because she needed it for her doctor's appointment the next morning.
That Lunar New Year, I sent extra gifts to the disabled elderly people selling lottery tickets. With the remaining money, I renovated my small house so I could have a stable place to live and confidently continue my social work, bringing love to the poor.
A fond memory shared by author Dang Hoang An and Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper , Nguyen Ngoc Toan.

This year, in the fifth season of "Living Beautifully - The Miracle of Compassion ," I was fortunate enough to win second prize for my essay about Ms. Tran Ngoc Diep, a disabled teacher – a quiet but resilient "pawn" in everyday life. What moved me most wasn't the high prize money, but hearing her recount how, after my essay, she received so much love and support from society and former colleagues. The circle of compassion and sharing repeats itself, just like how I receive and give.
For me, "Living Beautifully" is not just a writing competition. It's the launching pad that took me from a character to a writer; from a character whose life has "lifted my steps," I continue to spread kindness and compassion, allowing my heart to reach even more hearts.
The Central Committee of the Youth Union highly appreciates the initiative to organize the "Living Beautifully" contest by Thanh Nien Newspaper . With a large number of entries and diverse examples reflecting resilience and inspiration, the contest demonstrates the widespread impact of "Living Beautifully" among young people. Through this contest, we are pioneering on the moral front, reaffirming good virtues through diverse spaces of humanistic stories. I hope that young people, through themselves, their friends, and relatives, will spread these examples of "Living Beautifully" to build an increasingly better life, for the goal of a prosperous and developed country.
