The military is focusing its efforts on rescuing and assisting people in combating the floods.

To urgently respond to and mitigate the consequences of floods and heavy rains, ensuring the safety of lives and minimizing damage to people's and the State's property, the Ministry of National Defense has directed its subordinate units to maintain and mobilize maximum forces and resources to carry out search and rescue operations; closely coordinate with localities to send forces to provide logistical support (cooking, transporting essential supplies) and be ready to relinquish facilities to serve as temporary evacuation sites, ensuring safety and adequate living conditions for the people...

Armed forces are moving into flooded areas to rescue people.

In recent days, heavy rainfall has occurred over a wide area in many regions of Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak , and Gia Lai provinces. Floods on rivers from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa have exceeded alarm levels 2 and 3, with many places exceeding alarm level 3; in particular, some rivers in Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa have surpassed historical flood levels from previous years.

Heavy rains, exceptionally severe flooding, combined with high tides, have caused extremely serious inundation; preliminary statistics show that over 52,000 houses in more than 128 communes and wards in the provinces of Gia Lai , Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong have been deeply submerged; many residential areas are deeply flooded, with strong currents causing isolation and disruption, and some areas remain inaccessible, posing a risk of food shortages in the coming days.

In response to the situation, the Government and the Prime Minister have focused on directing the implementation of flood prevention, control, and response measures early and proactively, closely monitoring the situation. The entire political system, especially the military, police, local authorities, and the people, have acted decisively and promptly, contributing to limiting damage; localities have proactively organized the relocation and evacuation of 18,408 households, with 61,035 people in areas at risk of landslides and flooding, thereby making a significant contribution to ensuring the safety of people's lives. However, due to the historic rainfall and flooding, the flood situation remains very complex, especially with a very high risk of flash floods and landslides.

The military and local Party committees and authorities continue to concentrate all efforts, mobilizing all forces, resources, and means, and using every possible method and approach, to urgently reach all isolated and deeply flooded residential areas to rescue people. Under no circumstances should people be isolated in their homes or on rooftops, crying for help without receiving timely assistance.

Provide an emergency and sufficient supply of food, meals, water, and essential necessities to the people; mobilize youth and women's groups to organize cooking and distribution to the people; proactively evacuate people to the safest places, be ready to give up public offices (including police and military headquarters if necessary) to use as temporary shelters, and provide attentive care to the people.
