BTO - Agoda, a travel platform, has just announced its "Vietnam's New Horizons" list, compiling emerging destinations that are attracting increasing attention from both domestic and international tourists. Among them, Phu Quy Island, with its stunning beaches, pristine nature, and cozy homestay accommodations, has seen a surge in searches of 180% compared to the same period last year.
Local statistics also show that in the first nine months of this year, Phu Quy Island welcomed nearly 150,000 tourists (an increase of over 61,000 compared to the same period last year), including more than 2,200 foreign visitors. The Phan Thiet - Phu Quy route has 5 high-speed boats (with a capacity of 250-600 passengers) operating stably and safely, with daily trips to and from Phu Quy, meeting the travel needs and shortening travel time for tourists. The island has 150 accommodation establishments with 650 rooms, with homestays developing strongly. Tourism services such as motorbike rental, food and beverage, SUP board games, scuba diving, etc., have developed to meet the recreational needs of visitors. Tourism activities are safe and stable, with no instances of price gouging or harassment of tourists, and environmental hygiene is ensured.
Besides the positive impressions of the island, visitors who have been to Phu Quy all hope that Phu Quy will strive to maintain its image as a green, clean, beautiful, safe, and friendly place. This is because the lesson of the "overheated" development of Phu Quoc, the "pearl island," is still fresh in their minds.
