According to MSc. Pham Thanh Ha - Deputy Head of the Training Management Department of Foreign Trade University, 2025 is the first year that all university and college admission wishes are registered on the common system of the Ministryof Education and Training after the high school graduation exam results are available. This is the only official basis for schools to use in enrollment.
Therefore, even though candidates have previously participated in the admission process through many methods at different schools, the decision to be admitted still depends entirely on the official list of wishes registered on time on the ministry's system.
Ms. Ha believes that at this important stage, candidates need to have a clear strategy and choose their aspirations based on a real understanding of themselves and their field of study. Candidates need to proactively review the programs they have researched, not only through the name of the field but also carefully consider the training model, learning path, career opportunities and internationalization.
At the same time, carefully study the benchmark scores of previous years and how to convert scores between admission methods of universities in 2025 to build a list of wishes that is both suitable and competitive.

Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), noted that candidates need to pay special attention to the time to submit evidence of admission for each school, because each school has its own regulations and timeline.
For the University of Economics and Law, the deadline for submitting online application documents is July 10, through the official website: https://dkxtdhcq.uel.edu.vn. The school does not accept applications by post, all documents such as foreign language certificates, results of competency assessment exams... must be submitted online within the prescribed time.
In addition to registering your wishes on the ministry's admissions portal from July 16 to 28, candidates absolutely must not forget to submit proof on the schools' own systems, if required by the admission method.
He noted that some schools still require paper proofs to be submitted in person or by post. If candidates submit their application to the wrong place, at the wrong time, or after the deadline, they will not receive priority points or will not be eligible for admission according to the registered method, leading to unfortunate disadvantages in the university admission process.
Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Hung, former acting principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that candidates should take full advantage of all possible admission opportunities, instead of relying solely on high school graduation exam scores. In addition to the results of this exam, candidates can also use many other methods such as considering academic records, considering competency assessment test scores, international language certificates, or giving priority to direct admission... to increase their chances of admission.
Mr. Hung noted a notable change in this year's admission process: candidates do not need to specify the admission method when registering their wishes on the ministry's system. They only need to choose the major and school they want, the system will automatically consider admission according to all the methods announced by that university, based on the data the candidates have provided in advance such as test scores, evidence, certificates, etc.
In particular, even with the high school graduation exam results, candidates should consider making the most of the admission combinations that can be formed from the four registered subjects. This is very important to expand the chance of admission. Especially for candidates who choose to take the English exam when the predicted test score is low, choosing the right combination can greatly affect the chance of admission.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Huong, Vice Principal of Dai Nam University, said that after candidates know their high school graduation exam scores, they will officially enter the important stage of registering their admission wishes. Therefore, candidates need to pay attention to important milestones such as registering, adjusting, and adding wishes on the system from July 16 to 28, or the time to pay the admission fee from July 29 to August 5.
According to Ms. Huong, to increase the chances of being admitted, candidates should use many different admission methods.
