The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) is going through a lawsuit with a major media corporation in the Land of the Golden Pagoda.
According to the court ruling in Thailand, FAT must pay a debt of up to several hundred billion VND to this media group. Not only that, FAT also has to pay interest on this huge debt, so the debt will increase over time, if not paid on time.

In the difficult context, FAT President Nualphan Lamsam (commonly known as Madam Pang) continuously makes moves to find sources of money for football in the Land of the Golden Temple.
Recently, this female billionaire revealed that she will increase the amount of support for clubs in the three tournaments Thai-League 1, Thai-League 2 and Thai-League 3, if FAT successfully signs a new agreement on television copyright for the three tournaments mentioned above.
Speaking to Thai media, Madam Pang said: "Negotiations on television rights for the three tournaments in the Thai-League system are showing positive signs. The contract may last from 2025-2029."
"Because the contract is extended, I need more time to negotiate and go into detail about the terms. If everything goes well, I guarantee that the clubs will receive a higher financial support package than in previous seasons," added the billionaire who is currently the President of FAT.

Currently, according to the disclosure of Thai media, as of May 9 this year, the financial package that the clubs are being supported with includes 10 million baht (about 7.8 billion VND)/season for each club in Thai-League 1, 3 million baht (about 2.34 billion VND)/season for each club in Thai-League 2 and 1 million baht (more than 780 million VND)/season for each club in Thai-League 3.
According to what Madam Pang has just revealed, the support money from FAT for football teams in the 3 professional leagues in Thailand, from next season, will be higher than the above mentioned numbers.
Thailand's Siam Sport newspaper said: "FAT's financial support for clubs shows that they have never neglected to take care of the welfare of domestic football teams."
"Although the FAT is going through a financial crisis, with serious debt, Madam Pang called on domestic football teams to trust her to manage Thai football operations.
Madam Pang pledged that the Thai-League will continue as usual, and she also called on all parties to continue supporting her steps," Thailand's leading sports daily added.
