Every year, as the anniversary of the liberation of Binh Thuan province (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2024) approaches, every patriotic citizen shares a common feeling and emotion of pride in the glorious victory.
For the younger generation, even those born after liberation and living in peace, the memory of the victory on April 19th remains indelible and serves as a motivation to live, work, and contribute in a way that is worthy of the great sacrifices of their ancestors.
Over the years, upholding the national tradition of "Drinking water, remembering the source," the youth of Binh Thuan have implemented many specific and practical activities and movements to express their gratitude and responsibility to the older generations who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. In particular, on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Thuan (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2024), the Provincial Youth Union will organize a candle-lighting ceremony to honor the heroic martyrs at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery on the evening of April 17th. The lit candles will express boundless gratitude and respectful remembrance of the revolutionary predecessors and heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. Furthermore, it will remind today's young generation of their responsibility to both protect and build a prosperous and beautiful homeland.
Along with organizing the Candlelight Ceremony to honor the heroic martyrs, in recent years, the work of educating about revolutionary traditions, specifically the "Paying gratitude" and "Remembering the source" campaigns, has always been considered an important task that needs to be promoted by all levels of the Youth Union in the province. This has awakened patriotism, national pride, and the responsibility of young people in the current period of building and protecting the Fatherland. In particular, every year during the meaningful month of April, all levels of the Youth Union throughout the province simultaneously organize many meaningful and practical activities such as repairing, beautifying, and cleaning up to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment; lighting candles and offering incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at martyrs' cemeteries, martyrs' monuments, memorial plaques, and traditional revolutionary historical sites of the locality and unit. At the same time, they undertake to care for and support Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Organizing visits, giving gifts, providing free medical examinations and dispensing medicine, giving health insurance cards, helping to renovate and beautify houses for families of wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people who have contributed to the revolution in the locality and unit... Through these activities, we express our gratitude to the heroic martyrs and those who have contributed to the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the Fatherland.
The war is long over, but the contributions and sacrifices of the wounded and fallen soldiers will forever be etched in the golden pages of the nation's history as an immortal epic. And today's young generation has followed in the footsteps of their ancestors, continuing to write the glorious chapters of the past.
